I busted out 12th in million dollar freeroll at Paradise out of 1331 players top 10 qualify. guy in 11th has just passed blinds and is on the buton on the other table. I caught K 8 offsuit under the gun and only have enough for the BB and half the small should I have have played this hand or limped for two more games on the off chance to catch better there were 6 players on the table

well, if you need to get top ten, you have to survive two guys so is there another short stack along with the guy in 11th at the other table? If not, you can' survive the round and people are gonna wait for you to get knocked out. I would unfortunately push the K8 and just pray. I don't think there is anything else you can do. If enough people are short, you will hopefully just be called by one or both the blinds that have nothing and maybe triple up.

stoneburg is right but there have actually been tourneys that i've been in that structure was bad and I went so card dead in the last 2 rounds that i have been that short stacked. Card dead meaning that J4off was the best hand i saw in 20 hands. However, it is probably better to just push with one of those hands PRAYING you have enough fold equity to get the blinds and if you get called, your 83o is likely 2 live cards.

you just keep seeing hands and its like "well i know i need to push but the next hand has got to be better than this 9-2 offsuit" so you fold and next thing you know, you are in EP and pushing with crap and getting called in 2 or more places.
