I applaud TW for the honesty. I know what you mean about feeling worthless playing poker so much. It's a very unfulfilling life. That's why I try to attach myself to various other externalities. Like I'm part of the campus' improv comedy group and I have a radio show. I also volunteer work at the food co-op. And I always make an effort to keep in touch with my closer friends.

You'll come back strong like you always do. I hate to hit you with another brutal reality check but you have a 2K bankroll and you have been making regular weekly withdrawals for some time. It really hurts to be crushing the game and then hit a tail spin but you are ahead of about 90% of the aspiring poker players on this forum which puts you way way ahead of all poker players in general.

I bet when Mecos had the Las Vegas "DEBACLE" (I heard that word somewhere yesterday) he felt the same way and I know Piers has mentioned somewhere early in his journal that he played lower limits so long to rebuild a lost or diminished bankroll. I think terrific runs followed by crushing losses rinse and repeat is just the nature of the beast.

I am just an enthusiast playing 15 to 20 hours per week. But for perspective my best week ever was +$1791 followed the very next week by my worst loss ever -$1359.

Not currently living in philly, but I grew up in Roxborough. Now I'm stuck up here about three hours away in beautiful coal country.

Started the week with a big ol' 9 hour session, but after a good start, the cards went a bit dead, after which I really couldn't get anything much going. Countless missed flops, a bunch of 2-5 outters, and unfortunately a good few overplayed hands on my part. All told, I dropped about $130, but I did manage to get about 40% through the $200 reload so I suppose that's a silver lining of sorts.

On a side note, I started 4-tabling today, which really wasn't too big an adjustment from my normal 3. I think (i.e. know for a stone-cold fact) that my game was a bit too jittery and that I pushed too hard in some spots, so hopefully I'll be able to play a bit sharper tomorrow.

quick question...is multi a party skin?


playing tables is fu...do you have a big enough monitor and resoultion to play without overlap? if not..you should consider investing...it will effect your winrate.

Kenny : Having seen the various monitor-discussions that have gone on here in the past, I was actually considering that when I started up the 4 tables yesterday. I got my res cranked up, but there's still a bit more overlap than I'd like. Nevertheless, being the tightwad that I am, it'll probably be a while before I'm willing to spring (gasp) $500 for a larger monitor.
