Ok, tonight was my first night of fully 8 tabling PLO$25 and it went quite well. I was up almost $80 in just 1.5 hours. Very few hands of big note but some hands to come later.

As for 8 tabling, I can definitely do it with little problem. I only felt overwelmed a few times and they last for just about 20 seconds. Mostly, this is when a table breaks and I have to find a new one. This was hard since I was playing Eurobet and Party so I have to find a table i'm not on already on the other skin. I don't pick tables anymore by stats or pot size, just by what is available since all these tables are juicy or will become juicy soon enough. I got 600 hands in just 90 minutes. That is amazing in my mind. If tables didn't keep on dying and I wanted to play more, I could get about 1200-1500 hands in a session before I normally quit. I rarely put in more than 3-4 hour sessions as my concentration wears thin.

Actually, a key to keeping my concentration is being able to do other things while I play. Sounds wrong, i know but if I don't have to focus on just poker and watch tv, chat on IM, ect while I play, it helps my ability for endurance to keep my mind on poker....if this makes any sense.

Ok, onto a couple hands. I wish the hand converter worked for this.

Anyone who reads this journal and wants to learn PLO, please, never ever play a straight like this. The bet on the flop is fine but the check on the turn is terrible. However, one thing worse than that is the bet on the river is his call of my raise. Very few people will slowplay a better straight so when no one raises the flop, you have to think people are drawing for a boat since there is no flush draw. Therefore, he gives a free turn card (which we all check which no one would with the straight) and he then bets the river when the board pairs and calls a sizable raise. Horrible. This is $6 he should not have lost. This is why its so profitable for me and any competent player.

I thought I was against a straight and possibly a set. I was surprised when the one guy had a bare flush draw. I went for the check raise just to make draws like his pay so hopefully to give myself a freeroll against people with a bare straight. The other guy did have a redraw to a higher straight so I did get lucky here to get a share of this pot but often, this will get me heads up will me freerolling, tied with a better redraw or heads up with a set. Anyway you look at it, +EV.

Another sidenote, I've been trying to play more heads up tourneys as I pretty much kick ass against whoever I play but only play when I feel in the mood which I think is best. So far, I'm 7 for 8 in wins at the $10 + $.50 on stars and only lost the one on a big suck out that got me low stacked. I'm not trying to be arrogant and I know its a small sample but I think only one guy gave me a good run for my money so far. If kenny can say he's the best 1/2 Online NL player in the world, I think I can state I'm one of the best 10+.50 heads up tourney players online, which doesn't say much. Anyone that is any good at heads up will be at a higher level by now. I'll probably play some 256 player heads up tourneys at some point and test myself.

The month is almost over and I am currently having a record month for earnings but once again not putting in the hours needed. I've had a lot of distractions this month but I need to put in more hours, especially if I can earn this type of money. Well see. I plan on doing a full month wrap up this weekend.

That's a very impressive hourly rate at PLO 25. Congrats on the record month :)
Poker is silly.

It is not enough to be good at chess, you must also play well.

Somewhere in the world someone is training when you are not. When you race him, he will win.

thanks. I can only imagine that rate will go up as I multitable more than before. I pretty much play anywhere between 4 and 8 tables depending on how I feel how my concentration is.

This multipoker bonus could be the best and worst thing to happen to me. I'm probably gonna record my highest month in hours, bonus, poker profit and total gain but it might kill me in the process. 20x raked hands for a max of $1500. 30k raked hand meaning about 40k hands for me. I estimate that to be 200 hours of play when I often put in 50-60. Well, I should be able to finish $1000 of the bonus and playing 8 tables will allow me to play any other party skin offering a bonus or Eurobet for rakeback. I've only been playing 4 tables of Multi right now as it feels like nothing and I just do it to kill time while watching tv and such.

So far, I'm 2000 raked hands into the $200 bonus and I'm up almost $170. I've had 7 sessions and all winners for about 2 hours each and between $15-$50. Can't complain.

I'm beginning to feel like Hellmuth when he said "If it wasn't for luck, I guess I would never lose" but I'm not arrogant enough for that. However, I understand what he is saying but I am talking about PLO$25 players on Party, not top level poker pros in tourneys. Am I saying i'm the "Best $25 PLO Player Online?" No, but I'm damn close. I will never be the best as I make mistakes all the time but I'm determined to get better. Ok, rant done.

I found this one funny. I killed the flop except that it put a straight out there. I think I could even convince myself to fold the flop because my hand kills half my outs.

I don't slowplay as this hand is more vunerable than you think. I wouldn't like my hand if a K or A hit. Thank god this donk hit his boat on the turn. I just needed him to raise me. Sidenote, drawing on a paired board for a flush? never a good idea.

Solid play of 9J62 ds by my opponent got him what he deserved.

I wait and wait and play just a few hands and get these occasionally. I know I'm on a good streak of not getting sucked out too much (except at Interpoker) but sometimes they make it too easy.

Also, I was up $35 in a home game recently which puts me up over $200 for the month in earnings while halfway to a $200 bonus so 300 I guess and its only just started. Gonna be a long, tiring profitable month.

I'm jealous of your lousy PLO-playing carcass. I'm guessing a good 80-90% of hands get raked there, eh? About 60% at most for me, and considering that I pick some lousy tables, possibly even more like 55% :(

Nevertheless, you're a tremendous slacker so I'll probably still beat you to that $1500 in bonus :)

i don't disagree that i'm a slacker with my poker hours. In fact, I think I said it first in other words.

well, got about 1300 hands in, mostly at multipoker, some at Party. It was a terrible day as I only ended up about $10 but got much closer to a bonus. That's my mindset nowadays, I'm up just a little, its terrible.

Some hands of interest:

The funniest part is he raised it preflop. He's willing to chase his straight draw on a paired board but not bet it on the flop when he's the one that raised. Good job.

I hated his turn raise as I thought he could be freerolling on me. I just put it all in because I'm not folding no matter the river. Thank god he's just a moron with a set. If he max reraised the flop, i may have folded.

Nutflopper is a short stack idiot that buys in for $5.55 and tries to run it up until he goes broke and then starts again. Somehow he's winning in my DB. It was a gamble, but I like to do this once in a while. I figure I definitely had outs. When someone asks why he is always short, he said "did you see how brutal that last hand was?" Yeah, good thinking.

This one just pissed me off because i knew he had the flush. I had this guy set over set and because of diamond flush, I couldn't stack him. I may have gotten the guy with the 7 high flush to fold but many times, he will have a Q or T high flush and call you down so I just took the cheap cards. God damnit.

I put in a monster session last night, well for me anyway. 5.5 hours for 1040 hands on multipoker. I'm less than 400 raked hands from $200 in bonus. This is gonna be a long month.

I had a 3 hour period of cold cards where I slowly bled out $20 but got most of it back at the end to finish up $46 measly bucks. However, I'm not up 206 in PLO play this month so I'm more than matching the bonus amount I am trying to earn. Also, I'm doing this while only 4 tabling instead of playing 8.

Some hands of interest:

I knew exactly what he had so I called the flop with my 13 outs (11 since he had 2 spades) and slowplayed it nicely to get him committed. Not a big pot but I really like my play.

I love calling stations. He called flop with bottom pair and gutshot, caught 2 pair and paid me off. :D

This would have been huge. I would rather see the board pair than that heart. Also, note the acting by the guy that went all in with the nut flush.

Nutflopper also buys in for 5.55 and runs it up by just trying to go all in. When he loses, normally its on a suckout but since he has no money behind him, he can't protect his hand. I like it when he gets some money but still plays the same loose style.

Going back to the grind stone. I know i'm never gonna make it to 1500. 1000 is a long shot but doable. If only I could play more than 4 tables on the same skin.
