A must have! Why I didn't have this one already is a great loss. I'm halfway through it in one day, and can't wait to get to the end so I can start reading it again, and again, and again. I can't get over the number of things I've learned so far, stuff that I knew, but didn't realize, stuff that I didn't know, but must internalize.

Don't think that it's only for tournament players. What many ring players don't think about, and fewer tournament players understand, is the first few blind levels of a tournament are just a ring game with increasing "buy ins." You start at microlevels and go up. Harrington's advice in the first book applies to both ring games and tournaments and should be very useful to both.

A great book by a great player. I really do expect my game to jump a level, now.

I agree, the book is excellent. This book will improve anyone's game and I can vouch that in the one week i've been playing since having read the book, i've earnt more than in any other week in my poker playing career and it's not due to a mass amount of hours played. I can really feel the quality of my game has improved and only have HoH to thank.

Yes, stick, it's two volumes, but if you don't play tournaments, specifically MTTs, then you need only to read the first book. Just reading through his thinking process in a hand is worth the price of the book.

It's no wonder Action Dan is one of the best in the world. His understanding of the game is immeasurable, but then, he's been playing it for a thousand years. Harrington was one of the first to play at the Algonquin in New York, which was at one time the top game in the country. (He was playing backgammon there before the poker started up.) That's not in the book.

If you've seen Rounders, there's a mention of the game in it.
