Well, the forces of gas-stationdom have thrown another wrench into the cogs of...whatever. Too tired to continue the silly metaphor. Anyway, my 9 hour shit turned into a 14 hour one today and so much for poker! Feelin pretty drained right now, so I guess I'll make it an early night and try to get in a couple decent sessions tomorrow. I work 2-8 (hopefully no more :) ) so I'll try to get in 3ish hours beforehand and a good 5 or 6 afterwards. Really hasn't been much of a week so far, and today obviously neither helped nor hindered it...so maybe I can end on a strong note! As I'm always sayin, here's hopin. G'night all!

Well, the week started off looking like it wasn't gonna be a very good one. By the halfway point, things still weren't turning around...but when all was said and done, well...it really wasn't a very good week at all!

Hours played...18:35
Total "gain"...-593
Hoursly rate...(31.91)/hour

Ah well! These horridly disappointing numbers still somehow aren't enough to mess up the surprisingly great mood I've been in the past few days. Sure, the gas station is shanking me brutally with surprise 13-hour sneak attacks and last-minute call-ins...sure, poker has been sodomizing me lately...sure, my work ethic seems to have gone into a decline over the past week...sure, things are failing to go anywhere at all on the romance front...ummmmm...come to think of it, I'm really not sure what the hell I'm so damned happy about. But I'm happy nevertheless! It may just be psychosis.

Anyhow, despite the rather brutal results, I'm still sticking with my plan of cashing out $500. I really need to start building up a surplus in the checking account, what with some upcoming birthdays, christmas, taxes for next year, etc. Leaves me with around $3300, so I'm gonna stick with 5-10 for the next week, and if things fail to improve, I guess I'll just have to swallow my pride and move back down to 3-6 again! I'll cross that bridge if and when I come to it.

One thing that's for certain is that I'm gonna have to put up a much better effort in terms of hours next week. Didn't make nearly enough progress on the bonuses this week, and I'm down to about 8 days for most of it, so I'll need to bang 'em out next week. Ideally, I'll make a little money along the way for a change!

Current limit : 5-10 LHE
Current Bankroll : 3298

both shaking and stirring melt the ice. the reason one is not supposed to shake is that it "bruises" the vermouth.

i have no idea what that means, but...

ok, it looks like it means "aerate". as vermouth is a grape liquor (like wine), i guess aerating it is bad.

i could be wrong here... just sayin'.

Nah, not really in the short-term. I still consider myself a "pro" now, as for the most part I've been getting only about $100-150 a week from my "real job" and cashing 300-500 from poker.

I think I started to develop a few bad habits during my exit from the working world, so despite hectic weeks like this one, I think my part-time job is for the best. That being said, I can't quite say I'm really positive I'll still be there 6 months from now. Time till tell, I guess. If and when I hit 15K and start playing 10-20 (god knows how far off that'll be :D), I'm not sure if I can see myself goin to work and making $7/hour.

I have been meaning to ask you about this hand for a day or so. What did you have? With the guy's play on the flop of three betting you I really thought you should have raised the turn with any holding. I think with the way he played it that he was making a move on you as if he really had a hand he would have called your flop raise and CR you on the turn. What where your thoughts here. Perhaps you couldn't beat his j high but I think I still would have raised the turn after this action with 4 high.

Well, not been a very productive week thus far. My total still stands at 33 minutes, lol, but I should finally get in a decent session after I get done my big ol' 2-hour shift tonight!

It's a good thing I've been working so many hours, because even when I'm not there I just can't bring myself to consider poker as "important" right now. Pretty dangerous, but in all fairness there's some things that have to take precedence. In this case, precedence goes to psuedo-dates with the future Mrs. Wad, along with continuing efforts to convince her to dump her lame-ass boyfriend.

Well, no matter which way that goes, I'm gonna have to make a serious effort to get that whole thing resolved as the constant distraction is really not good for my poker game.
