Whoever said that just about anyone could make 100k 4 tabling mid to high stakes limit games is off his rocker.

It takes a great player at either limit OR NL to be a consistent winner. Personally, Im an average limit player but very good NL player. There are many different reasons for that.

To answer your question, if you are making decisions with "no conscious thought behind them" its going to catch up with you probably sooner than later.

You may well be a natural poker genius though. I know Im not. Ive worked hard, studied hard and played ALOT to get where I am as a player today.

Just took a big hit the other night, more bad calls and fancy plays than you could possibly imagine.

Checked through PT after, but no bad beats, just rubbish poker from me, oh well...

Your first instinct is usually correct. That is all your experience and poker knowlegde talking to you in one instant. This is espeically true for B/M where you have more tells etc.

However, consious thought and some pot odds math is very important . Even if you "know the answer to the problem", its good to "practice how you got the answer" and understand how/why you came up with that solution.
