Just from the section you posted, I assume the point was that a hand like 89 soooted you won't want to see every flop with it, but if you're able to limp it in late position if might be worth playing. As it is only a hand that is played when it's cheap to see the flop, in late position and with other limper in the pot, it will have a lower VSIP than AA (which will be 100).

I think the issue is how many times you play a certain hand, not that you play it for free.

Well yes, you do have to pay for the pleasure of playing any hand you choose, the point is that some/most hands will be folded pre flop. For all the instances you're dealt aces you will always at least see the flop (100% VSIP) whereas 6-8 off will see the flop much less often, so the VSIP % will be less because 6-8off is definitely a marginal hand. PT accounts for every instance of each hand you are dealt, including when folded pre flop.

Exactly! So if you were only dealt 20 total hands of which 10 were pocket aces that you saw a flop on everytime and 10 were 98s that you saw 2 of 10 flops, your TOTAL VP$IP = 60%.

Issue was fixed with the latest patch
