What a fine mess I got myself into!

$100PLO Interpoker. I'm on the button with $103 and Kd 7d 9h 8c. I limp after 4 others, SB in, flop is 7 handed. Flop is 8s 2d 6d. Checked to me. This is a tight table and i bet pot of $7 thinking I'll probably take it down. Only the CO calls. He started with $30 and isn't the best player in the world. I haven't seen him show down much so far. Turn is 4d giving me the K high flush. He checks to me with $22 left. I wasn't sure what to go for here (from what I'd seen of him he wasn't necessarily drawing to the flush - he could've had 2 pair or even 1 pair). I decided to bet $10. I think this may have been a naff bet as it committed me to the pot really (as he only had $12 left afterwards). He called this and went all-in on the 8d river. So it was $12 to me in a $40 pot. What do you do? How would you have played the rest of the hand?

I would have bet the pot on the turn so this river bet would be moot. I think if I was in your situation, its a marginal call but he doesn't have much left so desperate people make desperate moves for the rest of there chips.

Again, I think that's fair enough.

I think he has the nut flush for what it's worth. You should have moved in for the pot on the turn if you thought he might have a set.

As always, guys, I agree. I realised afterwards (as usual!) that I should have bet the pot. I was thinking that he would be scared of the flush and my half-pot bet might be more believable in the sense that I was trying to milk him. I didn't think about the fact that he might have a set and needed to be charged the maximum for this - I suck! Anyway it turns out he had a terrible hand. I'm at uni now so I can't remember the exact hand but it was something like A 5d 3d 6 for the nut flush - the straight flush! I have no idea why he called the flop bet but, as I said, he was a bit of a loser!

just be glad he didn't have that big of a stack but I would have paid him off on the turn so no worries. Most times, he will have a lesser hand and you'll take his small stack, but I'm used to $25 on Party.
