That wasn't even close to the worse beats I've seen. You lost to a 5-outter with 2 cards to come. I've lost to a 2-outter with 1 card to come. I've also lost to a runner-runner 4-high flush.

If you look at it as a seven card game instead of a five card game, then you no longer have bad beats or suck outs, just variance. Sure my opponent still maid an unsound play based on the math and the situation, but my lost was just variance, not a bad beat or a suckout. Works for my emotional well being.

Well I know its not the rarest beat, he did have a few outs.. The thing that makes it such a bad beat, is that he raised.. and then called a big reraise with 10 3... Then actually called an all in on the flop, somehow believing that his bottom pair could possibly be good.

That's not all that bad. Go over there and see the one I posted this morning. A 2 outer, but look at what this idiot raised and called with!

CJ, you are probably right, this should be moved to the Bad Beat section. But let me try to keep it here. This is an excellent example of what I am seeing in the SnGs at UB. At least at the low levels that I play.

I am terrified to play a hand in the first 3 or 4 orbits because of play like this. I am playing Nash's strategy very strictly right now the first 30-40 hands. Do NOT play unless I have AA, KK, or AK and I am cautious with big slick. At least 3 or 4 people are playing anything, it seems. I am now waiting until the blinds get to 30/60 or even 50/100 before I shift gears and start to get involved. I want those people gone and I don't care if I am in 5th place when we get down to 5.

Of course, I would have played this hand also and would have gone bust just like justin, but I'm starting to expect these beats. The nice part of this phenomenon is that more often you win the hand and can go into the middle phase with a decent chip stack.

no having 6-3 the flop coming 663 pushing all in with KJ and the turn and river come JJ. That is a bad beat.
