Would love to hear some comments on the following....

#1.
Playing .50/1 NL at UB
Mr Evil - $140
Me $60

I am on the button with JJ, one person in MP limps.

I raise the pot - 4.50

The SB calls as well as the limper. The flop is 24J rainbow. It is checked arround to me and I bet pot again - 14.50

SB calls MP folds.

Turn is a K , checked to me - I go all in for 39.25 - SB calls

River is a blank - and Mr Evil turns over KK for the floped set on the turn.

Dont think there is much I could do here - the SB was a loose player so he could of hand almost anything.


#2. NL .25/.50 - Dont have a read on anyone yet here
We both have even stacks....

EP raises to 1.50, fold to me I reraise to 5.25 with AA only the initial raiser calls.

Flop is K4T rainbow - check to me and I bet pot (11.25)

EP calls, turn is a 7 - check to me - I go all in for 23.95 and he calls...river is no help and he turns over TT

Comments? I think my big mistake here is the turn all in - should of checked it ....

#1 very well played i think. sometimes i check the flop (not if opponents are loose though).

#2 perhaps I missed it, but what did you have? AA? I go all in on turn too. I don't know if it is the best play but a lot of players will call with AK and KQ. KK and TT are the only hands to worry about. If you check the turn I think you have to call any bet from him on river (you induced a bluff, you have 24 left and pot is 33)

#1 - might risk a free card or a small bet on the flop, then apply the pressure on the turn. SB was very passive to only check-call an overpair after not raising preflop. I'd maybe slow down on the turn and bet only half pot, you want a call here.

#2 - I dunno what your hand is! I'm guessing AA, in which case there's little you can do here but lose your stack. Deeper stacks could be different, but here you can't give free cards and have to bet the pot (or close to it) each time, you played it fine.

Sometimes in this game you can play a hand perfectly and lose; it happens, unlucky mate!
