Arizona Cardinals +4
Detroit Lions +1
Miami Dolphins +2
Carolina Panthers -1.5

I also have those 4 as a Parlay at +1259 odds

Ravens +9/Dolphins +8 at -105

All $100 bets save for the Parlay which is $55.

So later today (like after I wake up) I'm going to Mrs. Xaston's little brother's birthday party. Kid is turning like 5 or 6 or some shit. He is pretty cool, loves Star Wars.

I had a big arguement with my friend from my old place of business as to whether or not going was a good idea. He said no, I obviously said yes. We ended up asking various people and the majority agreed with me. We even asked a random female customer her opinion. She came up to the concession stand and asked for change so she could get soda from the machines and Pedro (my friend who is currently a manager there, and managed with me back in the day) said sure let me get some from the office (we were already closed so the drawers were empty and all the money was in the safe). Before he went he said "Ask her what she thinks." I asked her and she was like "Go, why wouldn't you go?"

Afterwards we're gonna go see Jarhead. It should be a good time and put me in a better mindset, condusive to winning. Then of course Sunday I have my football games to sweat.

Hey cool.

I talked to Kenny about bankroll stuff for pros and he sent me some nice articles, a while ago. I then decided to calculate my monthly nut. I calculated a little under $3000 a month (this is for after I move out of course).

So thats all well and good but today I was looking through PokerTracker and was looking at my monthly stats since moving back in with my dad.

August: $5,484.56
September $10,573.92
October $7,362.30
November -$4,454.95

I played a lot on Pokerstars in August I believe, and I can't for the life of me figure out how to import their hands into pokertracker. Even considering all that money I made (on pokerstars) that didn't get counted, I'm still beating my monthly nut by $1,800 a month so far. And believe me, I don't plan on ending November with those numbers. Things are looking pretty decent.

Shit.

What stakes are you playing? Is that MINUS $4,454.95?

Also and pardon my ignorance but, what is exactly a nut? Monthly nut?

I dont know anything about win rates at NL$600 but I think a solid winning player can make more than $10K a month three tabling 20-25 hours a week. Dont you think?

That sure is minus $4,454.95.

I play $10/$20, $15/$30, $20/$40, and $30/$60.

A monthly nut is an economic term that means how much a business needs to make in a month to stay afloat, without getting any profit. My monthly nut would be the sum of all of my bills.

I don't play NL, as far as I'm concerned it's for pussies like KennyG . But let me take a stab at the question.

I'll say a solid winning player is making 3 PTBB/100 at $600 NL. That's about $36/hr/table. At 3 tables thats $108/hr. That's $2160-$2700 per week. Which is about $8,640 to $10,800 per month. So yea you're guess seems fairly reasonable.

How in the hell can you have a 3K monthly nut at your age  That is alot of sushi

To input you Stars hands use the lightening bolt figure on top of PT, then just go to the hand history file stored under Stars and click on it to set it up.

I'm not really sure if that's what it will be, I did a lot of estimating/guessing. I came up with this:

Rent & Utilities: $800
Food: $500
Car Insurance: $175
Gas: $160
Health Insurance: $150
Internet: $50
Phone: $50
Savings: $500
Misc: $600

Total: $2985

I returned to the tables today for a hour long session 5 tabling $10/$20 (6 max). I was up as much as $1400 and feeling real good but the beats became pretty absurd after.

AQ losing to K5 on a QQT flop for instance, and no, he didn't have a flush draw. I got KK 8 times and was -$121.35 with it. A couple times I said "Why does this shit keep happening to me," but I had to remind myself that it happens to everyone from time to time. Anyway I still ended the session with a $321 win so I guess I can't complain. Although $1,400 would have put a much bigger dent into this month's loss :?

I'm gonna check PartyPoker every hour or so and try and get on 5 shorthanded tables again for the 3,000,000,000th hand.

My monthly nut is about 600USD. You are damned right, Piers, sometimes it´s a great thing to live in a third world country, specially when your hobby makes you some DOLLARS  .

I have been making more than $1300 since august and this month I moved up to NL$100 and have already made more than $1300  . I have the intention of moving up to NL$200 before january, i only needto play more than 10K hands with any reasonable win rate.

Xaston, thanks for the nut definition. 3PTBB/100 hands seems very low! It seems that there are no fishes at $600 NL tables...but anyway more than $100/hr is great!
