Ok, if there's one thing ATE hates, is people using WRONG words, and people trying to CHANGE existing terms, that are well-established.
So, I want all of your help, in making sure you dont use the WRONG words.
Number one on my STOP @$%&#$%&@$%^king saying that, it's WRONG:
"Internet qualifiers" AAAARRRRRGGGGHHH! I wanna break the jaw of anyone using this term! It's WRONG.
"So, with all the "internet qualifiers" this year , BLA BLA BLA
THERE IS NO SUCH THING, AS AN "INTERNET QUALIFIER" !!!!!
Since one does NOT have to QUALIFY, to enter a tournament, but merely pay a fee.
There CANNOT be such a thing!!!
Change to: "Internet entrents" Or "playings who have won their seat, on the internet"
Next:
Use of the term "the floor" to mean "the floorperson"
GOD, HOW I HATE THAT!! Especially when it's ANNIE DUKE, saying it "do you want me to call the floor on you"?
What a sick, stupid joke.
Folks, here's the way it works: The area containing poker tables, is called "THE FLOOR"
The person responsible for making decisions on said tables is "THE floorPERSON"
One cannot "call over the floor"
I don't know who in the hell is trying to change this, BUT ATE WILL NOT ALLOW IT
Next:
"complete" referring to making the forced opening bet in stud, a full bet.
When a dealer says "complete" she is TOTALLY WRONG. The only time a bet can be "completed" is when someone is all in, for less than a full bet, and the rules permit only a completion, not a raise.
I hate this, I hate this I hate this.
Even the tournament software "the clock" has this WRONG WRONG WRONG
One cannot complete something, that was NEVER incomplete in the first place.
Correct terms: Straight, "make it" "now"
As in: 10 straight, 10 now, or "make it 10" This indicates, taht the bet has been increased, yet does NOT count towards on of the raises.
Some IDIOT, who was running a dealer school, across from "the bike" about 8 years ago, started using this INCORRECT term, and it's unfortunately caught on.
THINK I'M BEING NIT PICKY
Think again. Each and every word out of a dealer's mouth, is suppose to be correct, and convey the correct information.
Also on my hate list: "blog" What the hell is a "blog" WHY CAN'T WE JUST SAY
"WEBLOG" Are we so damn lazy, that we now must abbreviate only two STINKIN letters?
I mean, I can see shortening "A funny thing happened on the way to the forum"
to: "forum"
But ATE is NOT cool, with taking off only two #%^@^@^king letters, and thus making the word non-descriptive
