Do you call here looking for a safe turn? Do you ever just call with top set on the flop unless a straight or flush is possible? If you do, what do you do on a straight or flush card?

hand 1
if you are fairly confident that he has a set, then i think this is a raise or fold situation. if the flush card hits on the turn, you probably won't get much out of him. as such, the raise on the flop is the only way to get all the money in -- plus you get to see two cards. that being said, i would be tempted to fold as i don't think you're getting enough odds HU even if you get all of the money in the middle on the flop.

on the other hand, if he strikes you as a low variance player who may fold without a made monster (e.g., flush or boat), then the fold equity may make the raise a good play.

push -- you have redraws even if he hits his straight or flush. make him pay to see cards. this play also has the potential of squeezing Monte if he is the one with the nut flush draw -- that is, he would get proper odds with 2 people all-in but won't know if werdna will call or not.
