I'm on UB, waiting for a seat at a 2/4 Limit O8 table to open up and want to finish clearing some bonus dollars. I grab a seat at a 6 max 1/2 Holdem table to pass the time and I am freakin amazed at the monster hands that I see in the first 3 or 4 hands. I grab 2 huge pots but I can't believe how many other big hands were out there.

Then I look up at the top and it says 'royal holdem' (or something like that).

Doh.

Does anyone play this? I mean, like, intentionally? I'm guessing there's money to be made on the donks (like me) that don't realize what kind of table they are on for the first few hands.

oh yes... this is (or at least was) a very soft game. it's all about knowing how to play your boats. i played around with it for a little while and did OK. i got spanked HU, though, and that kept it from being great.

lots of 2+2ers found it when it started up, and it would often be supertighties waiting around for a fish to drop buy and donate.
