Opponent and i have about equal stack of $200

Dealt [Ts] in the BB. UTG opponent raises to $5. Folded to me I call.

FLOP $10.50

I lead for $8. Opponent folds.

Ahh well. Too bad. I was trying to lead here so he couldn't put me on a 10 and would put in a big raise with AA on either the flop or turn.


I assume everyone else on this forum would have checked?

I just don't think I could get his stack with a check-raise here. It probably didn't matter because he obviously didn't have a high pocket pair.

If I lead out, I wouldve made it more like $5. Some guys will raise you there even with AK.

Hmm. I think it would depend on my read on UTG. If UTG was an aggerssive player I would probably use a weak lead to get him to raise me, whether he had AK or a pocket pair. If he was passive I might be more inclined to check, either giving him a chance to catch up if he has AK or let him bet with a high pocket pair. If I check and he bets pot, I would just call and then lead on the turn regardless of the card. I don't think he could put you on a ten as easily if you check-called the flop and then lead, as opposed to check-raising which usually is a good indicator of flopped trips.

So I guess this was a loss too?

If I were you I wouldn't want quads since you lose every time with them.

As for you feeling like I'm trying to inflate my own ego I'm sorry if I come off like that. I'm really just trying to improve my game and help some others in the process.

Mostly I just post hands for discussion.....and I've posted a lot of hands where I've played like shit. So I assume it must be my weekly results thread.....I guess I could just leave stats with no comments, I just thought people would be interested in my first month going pro and what I've been through.. If that's not that case, then I just won't bother with it.

Whoa now. I am surprised no-one has alerted me to this situation. I really would like to be notified when any stuff like this arises.

Advice to everyone and one person in particular with regard to this threadr: If you don't appreciate someone or their posts, simply avoid both. Locking horns does neither party nor BTP's reputation any good.

I dont think you posts sound arrogant at all Kenny. You results post are of interest to anyone moving up the ranks and who are wanting to play higher stakes. I dont think anyone thinks you are bragging just because you are reporting your winnings.

I know when I was starting out, I wouldve loved to have other peoples results to compare mine to.
