Poker is starting off pretty well for the month. I have lost 3 heads up SNG's on stars due to sucks outs and my bad play too. However, I won the final event of the BTP WCOOP and the championship and bragging rights. Only 6 people were in the final event and not many played events consistently so the win was a little bittersweet. A win is a win though.

PLO50 is starting off pretty good. I'm currently up about $290 for the month in about 6 hours of play. A buy in an hour, not too bad. I have gotten sucked out in a couple pretty big pots by gutshots and such but I've also hit a freeroll or two for nice pots. Some examples:

PokerStars Pot-Limit Omaha High, $0.50 BB (7 handed)

BB ($20)
Hero ($63.60)
MP1 ($17)
MP2 ($29.50)
CO ($4.50)
Button ($105)
SB ($19.50)

Preflop: Hero is UTG with [5d], [Jh], [Jd], [Tc].
Hero calls $0.50, 1 fold, MP2 calls $0.50, 1 fold, Button calls $0.50, SB completes, BB checks.

I'm pissed off about this one. I still can't believe he check raised me on the turn and didn't lead the river. In retrospect, I should have reraised so I cost myself about another 20. Still can't believe how he played his second to nut boat.

He had KK
Outcome: UTG+1 wins $105.

I can't believe this guy slowplayed his top set AFTER the preflop raiser checked. I did have the flush redraw and didn't put him on top set because of the flop check. It worked this time for him but he is asking for trouble slowplaying like that in a multiway pot with draws out there.

I was really proud of this hand because if he only had the flush, I think I could have stacked him too. In this case, i was stacking him anyway.

So plo50 is going really well right now and I hope to keep it up. We'll see how I feel when more swings go the other way.

one hell of a boring session last night over 3 hour. Lost a couple semi big pots including a AA98ss allin preflop against a 1/3 stack who had 6652 who pulled a straight on the river after he flopped nothing but a gutshot and I flop the flush draw too. Basically, I won 1 double up, 1 half stack and lost 2 half stack pots and bled away. At one point, I had won 8 pots of 330 hands but only one of significant size.

Results in white below:
BB has 3s 4c Ad As (two pair, fours and threes).
Hero has Kh 5d Qd Kc (three of a kind, kings).
Outcome: Hero wins $116.15.

My one big hand and I was 60/40 on the flop with him so I wasn't a great favorite. I was screaming at the screen to either pair the board or offsuit 7 or 8 and I got it.

Hero bets $8, UTG+1 calls $8.

Final Pot: $33.05

Results in white below:
Hero has Ah 3c Ts Qh (straight, king high).
he had [5h Ac Ad Jc] and won with a flush
Outcome: UTG+1 wins $33.05.

This bet was half value bet, half pot control. He can't raise me without the boat so I may get a showdown cheaper and I might be winning. I can't believe he backdoored into the flush and was calling down with the hand he had. I've taken some decent pots off him before and if he keeps playing like this, I will take a lot more in the future.

Ended after 3 hours up $6 plus another 10% or so to a bonus but after the cold cards I was getting, I was happy to be up while only winning 2 real pots.

Apprarently my fans (all 1 of them) are very demanding for updates.

Won about $170 in a couple hours friday night and had to get up at 5:30 the next morning to go skiing. Got about 2-3 hours of sleep and got warmly dressed for a 2.5 hour trek to NY to go to a mountain my friends wanted to go to because its more challenging rather than one an hour closer that I would be happier at. 12 total hours and 100 total bucks later, we were done skiing. Basically I had the choice of black diamond or bunny slopes and being that I didn't want to hurt myself (separated shoulder 3 years ago when I last went), I stuck to the easy slopes and just hand a relaxing day. Apparently my roommate had a spectacular crash that left his hip in bad pain and face a little banged up.

Was supposed to go to a party that night but my friend wanted to see Narnia so I decided to see the movie then go to the party. Narnia was pretty good but when I tried to call my friend to find out where the party is, he didn't pick up so no party for me. Bastard.

Spent sunday playing poker and watching football. I released a stars bonus of 120 and did the entire party bonus for 75 but was down 40 in play there so a whooping 35 profit. Overall, up 170 for the day. I also got to see the Chargers die to knock me out of the suicide pool. Since Denver was eliminated due to a rule made this week (which I opposed, but i'm not bitter!), I went with SD since this is the last time I'll get a chance to use them with their schedule. I almost choose Min but stuck with SD. Whoops. I hope TR wins because I don't want to hear MVP bragging which he will do immediately after reading this entry if he actually reads this journal.

Got a lot of random crap to get taken care of. Some important like health insurance and DMV stuff.

Here's what you all want, some HH's: (hand converter wasn't working when I posted)

I love people that reraise preflop like this. Just type in the box "I have AAxx and will probably play for my stack". Just hit the flop and trap. Also funny is the other guy had trips kings in his hand and would have hit his 1 outer on the river to beat the AA hand. All my money now.

The most useless turn raise EVER! He's only got a draw and I bet so much I can't fold so why raise me on the turn with no fold equity when he could just call and fold the river if he misses? Even if he hit, the pot is so big, i'm paying him off.

I've hit a good amount of quads lately, particularly quad 7's. Don't chase a draw on a paired board and don't bet the turn. He should know this. I wonder if he would have called a max bet on river as he called my value bet quickly.

people need to know how to fold these crappy hands preflop AND on the flop. He is not committed on the flop with his no hand.

The hands that screwed me over are in the Omaha section. This is where I get to brag and berate the other players stupidity.

LoL. Its true! Ya look at an omaha hand history, look at the holecards, and the board, and are like, ohkay what did he have again? Then look at other peoples hole cards and are like, ohkay so this guy had this. What did the other guy have again? Oh yeah, they all had each others outs, hmmm...everyone was drawing dead and didnt realize it...interesting. Its a fast food eating, pay-per-view watching, lesbian porn off the FS network downloading society were in over here! PLO is definitely too much to comprehend.

I definitely would play war for a living if i thought i had an edge. Gotta work on that.

A very shitty 1.5 hour session last night. Down $58 at plo50. Yes, down a little more than 1 buy in is very shitty for me. I won 7 hands out of 290 and saw a huge 18% of flop including the blinds. I know i'm tight, but not that tight. That's how the cards were as i could barely hit a flop. Boring session overall and I think I played decently. Here's two hands:

This guy always plays short stack and is a calling station and I knew i had him. God damn river. He was drawing to a gutshot and 2 aces and hits. That would have turned my night around a bit.

I've been getting lazy with my hours even though I'm still up 800 for the month, its been over less than 30 hours so I have to get that up. Looks like I'll be playing a lot tonight.
