I have been an avid browser of BTP for sometime time now and have finally decided to actively participate.

Actually I am hoping that by posting in a journal publicly, I might be able to find the discipline to stick with a winning strategy long term.

I am a very competent SNG'R, but for some reason I absolutely suck at ring games. However, despite the fact my stats tell me this, I can not seem to avoid losing all my hard earned money from the SNGs on stupid ring games.

That has now changed. After losing my roll once again playing in a ring game that I was not properly BR'd for I have decided to stick with what I am best at.

So with that in mind I have come up with a new and soon to be very profitable strategy!!

I have deposited a measly $50 at Poker Stars (I think the higher starting chips and slower blind levels suit my game). With this small investment my favorite hobby should easily fund itself as I move up levels.

My extreamely strict guidelines:

1) DO NOT PLAY RING GAMES
2) Do not move up in levels untill I have 20 Buy-ins at the next level.
3) If I fall below 20 buy-ins of the lower level - drop down.
4) Average at least 50 SNGs per week.
5) Maintain a ROI of at least 50% (lofty goal??? Gotta shoot for somehting)

Anyway, sorry for rambling. This Journal is basically to help myself develop some much needed discipline. If someone feels like dropping me a line feel free. I will try and update with my successes every 10 or so SNGs.

Word of warning about responding to Kiso - he'll turn this into his journal even without encouragement.

50% ROI is completely unsustainable in the long run. Aim for 25-30% on the lower-stakes SNGs.

100+% ROI is incredible - but this is extremely short-term results. Try not to be too disappointed when you're OTM 5-times in a row, it'll happen.

My ROI is 51.2% in the Stars $15 Turbos over the past 4 months..this had however been helped by winning every time I managed to get heads up in my last 10 matches.

Just as well given the struggles I am having in mastering $100 6max.
