December is going well...FINALLY
Current mood: calm

Well after much suffering and torture at my 5 max experiment, I finally have some decent numbers! My last session I won almost 4 buyins. Add up the 4 sessions before that where I piled up small/decent wins and I'm back.

I took a day off today. I don't really know why. I didn't have much else to do but I didn't want to play at all. I figure I have to at least put in 2 hours tommorow. Heh. I just read that statement over to myself "I figure I have to at least put in 2 hours tommorow." I'm one lucky guy. What an awesome job I have.

I watched the 1995 World Series of Poker tonight. What horrible commentary. The main commentator didn'tt have a clue about poker. The anaylst kept correcting him over and over; trying not to make him not look like an idiot.

Dan Harrington played brillantly from what they showed. He switched gears very well, and was picking off the amatuer easily. He obviously is a great player.

I also watched some poker show on the game channel the other night. They had the "poker masters" against the "young guns" Harrington took that one down too. I was very surprised to see a young girl playing. Apparently she's a big online pro on pokerstars. Her name is Jenicde or something like that. Anyway, I was extremely impressed with her play and demeanor. She was cute too, which is always a plus. Hopefully I'll have a chance in the future to bust her, then maybe get in her pants? Heh. We'll see.

Variance, Variance.
Current mood: amused

I just lost $475 in an hour on Bayou 5 max. I think I played fine, which then leads me to this post:

It's amazing the different variances I've had between 2 sites. I've been playing 5 max on Bayou, which certainly will bring higher variance. I initially started playing full ring though, and variance only went up about $100 per sesssion on 5 max.

I'm gonna post two different graphs to show the huge variance difference. I don't know how I sleep at night when I look at the second graph.

I have a higher winrate at Bodog, but earn about $12 less an hour in bonuses. Still it about evens out in the long run...and the less variance route is probably my best bet. I'm not a gambler at heart, so these huge swings at Bayou are not making me any happier. I'm thinking about going back to Bodog and staying there for a long while.

I had a heart attack just LOOKIN at that second graph...

I started to faint looking at the second graph, but then I remembered that it was Kenny - the guy who turned the "all-in push with a straight draw" move into an art form.

lol stickdude...i wish i could say that's what it was. but it was more like...kenny open pushes with AA and gets called by A9 to lose to three 9's
