4 limpers and I just check from the BB with AKs.
The pot is $10. The flop comes A95. I check planning to check raise, but it gets checked around.
Pot still $10. The turn is a 4. I bet $10. MP min raises to $20 and its folded back to me.

Of course the way the hand is going, I have no idea what he has. I call

The pot is $50. The river is another 9. I check and he bets $26.

He could easily have me beat, but I have a gut feeling and I call. He has A4 and I win. The second nine counterfeited his 2 pair.

Why do I need a break after the hand?

Because about a min later I look down at the chat window and it says that I won with a flush. I didnt even notice there were 3 of my spades out there. Damn.

I checked my straight without a flush on the board before. Multi-tabling I was in another hand with AQ. The price of multi-tabling when your tired I guess.

Like I said, I needed a break. I know I did it before, but that was a totally different situation where we were heads up and I thought he would fold to the fopped ace after I raised preflop and bet the flop.

This time I shouldve lead out, bu tfor some reason wanted to see the action before it got back to me. Im not saying its necessarily right.

Palman, of all the great NL players that I know, your disagree with my play almost every time. Our styles are like night and day. I play very tight, you play LAG.

That is exactly why I like reading your posts and advice so much. It helps grow my game to learn other styles. Of course, in this case, most everyone would bet the flop so your not saying anything crazy, but alot of your posts talk about things I would never have considered.

What do you think about a check-call here and then leading the turn? It pretty much gets the same amount of money in through the flop and turn as a bet-call bet-call, but people would be less likely to put you on an Ace, or at least on a strong Ace. Wouldn't this line be more likely to make you money on the river, whereas if you bet the whole way most guys would be willing to drop their A3 to a river bet?

Well if that's the case then you've got great game selection.... and I'd agree if you're getting it with KK you're getting it with any ace. But I think this guy is quite the extrodinary idiot, not your average player.

And during lunch I thought about it and actually prefer the lead out with the AAx board as well, thinking it will do better against the medium/low kickers on average.

its great that it worked out and you got his whole stack but i think p;al is right. the C/R is a power play that shows him your willing to invest a lot of money in the hand and gives him a chance to get away from it relatively cheaply
