Played about 5 hours last night and broke even! sweet. not much going on at stars but managed a $30 win and then played bodog 25's since stars was breaking up. One big draw against someone slowplaying top set and I lose on buy in. I work my way back to about even and get sucked out for another buy in from a guy with bottom 2 and king high flush draw when i had the nut straight, 1 pair and a straight flush draw so I had a decent amount of blockers but he hits his full house on the river when we are all in on the turn. Just sucks.

love the low wrap. Didn't think someone would have the other 6 but he then lies about his hand and said he had A6. I just comment that i can see his hand in the hand history and he says nothing more. No need to lie.

This guy was playing very aggressive and I didn't catch him any better than this. I would have flopped top set vs his draw but had to fold preflop since I wasn't calling a raise, even in position, with a QQ rag rag hand. Would have doubled up on that one.

Go to the gym tonight and play a little more. Nothing too exciting otherwise.

down 3 buy ins last night chasing this maniac which I never could hit. Lost one buy in on a heads up battle early and then bled the rest away not hitting flops and calling raises against the maniac that would pot raise pf 75% of the time and bet pot on the flop about 80% of the time.

this is as close to a big hand as i got and I would have finished with the nuts but with the bets, i knew a set and a flush were out there and possibly the same straight so I couldn't call that all in as all i would have is 6 outs for a possibly split. couldn't catch a god damn break.

Hope everyone had a merry fucking xmas. Mine was nice and relaxing. Nothing special but nothing bad. Spent quality time with the family for a few days and basically did nothing.

However, it did take me away from poker for a little longer and since i haven't put in the hours I wanted this month, that doesn't help. My hourly rate is way up so I am still bringing in good coin but it could be so much more. I put some time in at bodog and was up about $100 on there plo25 tables since they never have 50's going. I'm over 1/3 the way to the 200 bonus there. I'm making use of the double FPP on stars to clear the 270 I had pending. 150 is released and i'm 1/3 the way to the 120. While doing that, I'm up about 230 on the PLO50 tables so all in all, its been a good week so far.

Played in a home game 2 nights ago which I haven't done in a LONG time. $20 buy in with 25c/50c blinds. Not the best structure but its interesting. I know everyone I play with and they know me so they respect when I raise. For example, I get AQo in the sb and it folds to the button who raises to $2. I make a comment that you are stealing my blind and I have yet to see my cards. I reraise to $7 total and the BB and button immediately fold. The button loves to play, especially heads up and in position but against me, he folded his QT which he would have played against anyone else.

The game gets 6 handed and i'm UTG. I actually thought I was UTG+1 but either way, I raised to $2 with KTd. My roommate who is to my left says "I would call if it was anyone else" and folds his AJ. Folds to button who calls, as does the sb, bb folds. Flop is QJx and its checked to me. The dealer also checked as he was acting out of turn the whole hand for some reason so i thought he was the sb and the sb was the bb. I get a bad feeling looking at my opponents and check too. Turn is a 9. The dealer bets out $3, sb folds and I go all in as he only has 9 left and I know he's gonna call. He immediately calls with AA drawing dead. He said he only called since he saw the sb was gonna call and wanted him in too. That's how you get AA cracked.

Well, everyone goes nuts when they see that i raised a KT, even short handed. Thats how much respect I get around the game yet I still get paid off. What was AA beating on that board against someone with apparently this much respect? The night goes on and I steal some small pots, fold 77 to a big raise pf to a short stack which gets called in 2 places behind me by 99 and AQ. End up $20 bucks for 3 hours. Not terrible in this game.

Played some PLO50 on stars last night and had a damn fine session. Here are a couple hands for those that care.

PokerStars Pot-Limit Omaha High, $0.50 BB (8 handed)

Button ($49.25)
SB ($3.15)
BB ($36.05)
UTG ($32.60)
UTG+1 ($18.70)
MP1 ($53.10)
MP2 ($49.75)
Hero ($69.65)

Preflop: Hero is CO with [Jd], [Ad], [6c], [Jc].

Flop: ($4.75) [Js], [Kh], [Td] (3 players)
BB bets $3.5, UTG raises to $7, Hero folds, BB calls $3.50.

Turn: ($18.75) [Jh] (2 players)
BB checks, UTG bets $6, BB folds.

Final Pot: $24.75

This pissed me off as I thought it would be getting into a raising war. I hate folding quads. I know i would have gotten his whole stack too.

PokerStars Pot-Limit Omaha High, $0.50 BB (9 handed)

MP1 ($14.70)
MP2 ($29.40)
MP3 ($70.20)
Hero ($71.60)

2 folds, MP1 calls $0.50, MP2 calls $0.50, MP3 calls $0.50, Hero calls $0.50, Button raises to $2, 1 fold, BB calls $1.50, MP1 calls $1.50, MP2 calls $1.50, MP3 calls $1.50, Hero calls $1.50.

Flop: ($12.25) [Ks], [7s], [8d] (6 players)
BB checks, MP1 checks, MP2 checks, MP3 bets $11.65, Hero raises to $46.6, Button folds, BB folds, MP1 folds, MP2 folds, MP3 raises to $68.2, Hero calls $21.60.

Turn: ($148.65) [5s] (2 players)

River: ($148.65) [Th] (2 players)

Final Pot: $148.65

Results in white below:
He had [Kc 2s Kh Tc] (three of a kind, Kings)
briachek: shows [Ad 9c As Ts] (a flush, Ace high)
Outcome: Hero wins $148.65.

PokerStars Pot-Limit Omaha High, $0.50 BB (8 handed)

SB ($19.40)
BB ($38.70)
UTG ($6.80)
UTG+1 ($35.40)
MP1 ($14.60)
Hero ($54.20)
CO ($131.40)
Button ($58.75)

Preflop: Hero is MP2 with [Ac], [Jd], [Jc], [2c].
UTG calls $0.50, UTG+1 calls $0.50, 1 fold, Hero calls $0.50, CO calls $0.50, 1 fold, SB completes, BB checks.

Flop: ($3) [6c], [4s], [Js] (6 players)
SB checks, BB checks, UTG checks, UTG+1 checks, Hero bets $2.85, CO calls $2.85, SB folds, BB folds, UTG calls $2.85, UTG+1 folds.

Turn: ($11.55) [9h] (3 players)
UTG checks, Hero bets $11, CO calls $11, UTG folds.

River: ($33.55) [5d] (2 players)
Hero checks, CO checks.

Final Pot: $33.55

Results in white below:
he had [5s Qh Tc As]

Outcome: Hero wins $33.55.

I really wanted him to bluff at it as I knew he wasn't calling anything. He had more outs than I def wanted him to.

The next month or so is gonna be hectic. I have all these minor plans for the next week. New year's eve is still up in the air. We might go to a friends house, into philly or someone else suggested AC so who know. We are moving to a new bigger place on Jan 15th so we have to prepare for that and of course part of that preparation is a final party the saturday before. Def gonna be a good time. Then its all the crap preparing for the move and then Vegas at the end of the month. Its gonna be a really good month but part of me will be happy when its over and I can relax.

The stupidest thing just happened to me and my friends last night. Three of us went to a local diner to grab some dinner and we brought a deck of cards with us to kill some time playing Gin. We've done this at this diner MANY times before and never had a problem. We play about 6 hands when a guy walks up to us, I assume the owner or head manager or something, and says that we can't play. He says it in a nice and friendly way that we don't know if he's joking so my friend just says "are you serious?" and he say yes, once again in a nice and friendly way so he could still be messing with us. He goes on to explain how other people could see us with cards and assume we are gambling, save playing cards for the clubs, ect. Once again my friend says "are you serious?" and he says yes and puts his hand on my friend's shoulder to further explain to him. My buddy just says "ok fine, we'll stop and don't touch me." He walks away and this just strikes us all as stupid.

First off, we weren't playing for money and just having a good time. If a deck of cards means we are gambling, can I not sit there with a cup of coffee and play solitaire? Its not like we set up a 3 card monte table in the back or was playing poker. In fact, if people want to gamble, you can gamble on anything, you don't need cards. We could gamble on how long it will take the food to arrive, who's food will be on the table next, the gender on the next person to walk into the diner, ect. Am I the only one that finds this excessive?

That sucks Brian. Says something about the stigma of cards in society. Everyone thinks cards=gambling. If ya want, I know a cool dude named Trogdor that can burn the whole freakin place down for only a small fee

Btw briachek I'm in that whole hospitality industry and I think it was priteee rediculous of that guy to say that to you. I can understand if you got chipstacks and a roulette wheel but ffs its just cards. At least you were nice about it rather than MVPs I'll be a giant fuck bag and prove my point. :D

i used to be a server too and it wasn't the waitresses fault so we just did what we would normally do and just left a normal tip too and left. I'm a nice guy while MVP is just a dick.

I was never a waiter, but if I was as much of a c*cksucker as that guy is, I'd expect someone to talk sh*t to me... But, in my defense, I am an EXCELLENT tipper...
