5/10 madness
Current mood: grateful

Ahhhh...my goal for the year. 5/10 NL. I've arrived baby!

It's been a long, fun road to get here. I remember when I first started playing poker at the 3/6 limit games. Good ol' pokerstars. I must have been easy pickings then, my $1500 gone in a month or two.

Then I started over with $1 (transferred from a friend) in my account. Eventually I worked it up and declared myself a pro at the end of last year with a bankroll of only $1000. Now I'm up over $50k in this year alone! ChaChing! I've been blessed in so many ways and I can't help but be thankful. I'm such a lucky guy.

Now I don't know what my next goal should be! I'm confident 5/10 is not the peak of my poker climb. Moving to Vegas is always in my mind...but when? How much should I have in bankroll and savings before I attempt that? Lots of questions for myself, and as of yet, I don't have the answers.
I suppose it doesn't matter as long as I'm enjoying myself and learning from the past.

I think my key to progressing has been my good bankroll management. I'm not a gambler at heart. Granted, I will gamble at the table on judgement calls and with decent odds...but I need to have money behind me. So far from what I'm seen, a lot of players at 5/10 are underfunded. I say that because they are too weak with their money, folding too often to my bets. Then again, maybe I'm just having a good short term run.

The future is bright. The horizon yet unseen.


On another note I've been looking for a bunch of new poker friends on myspace. I've met a lot of great people through poker and hope this trend will continue. Poker is such a life changing game. The more people I can relate with, the happier I am. Whats life without friends anyway?

Congrats dood... and when you head out to Vegas fulltime, gimme a call... It'll be cool to have a free room to crash in, and I usually bring a few goodies with me...

The Party's Over

Well, the party's offically over. My mini-vacation comes to an end today. After getting happily wasted on new year's eve, and recovering on new year's day, I'm ready for the poker world.

Those days off of poker were great for me. I only played around 50 hours for the month of december, but I needed a break. Though I don't play many hours a week, the emotional strain of swings and the complete concentration of multiple-table play drains the shit out of me.

It would probably be a lot easier if I was a complusive gambler. Oh well, I'm glad I have control.

Sadly for you guys the money stats stop here. At 5/10 the stakes are just too high to post all my sessions and what not. I don't wanna take away from someone who has a great job but doesn't make the hourly I make. Frankly it's not fair, and I'm not one to gloat.

I've been blessed when it comes to poker and friends. I want to thank you guys for supporting me through this crazy shit of a poker career. It's great to know I have friends I can talk to about bad beats, about wins, and about everyday life. (and degenerate stuff like hookers reach-arounds.) lol.
