i think that the people running this site are making a mistake if they use "enter at your own risk" to mean adam can do whatever he wants, make up any rules he wants, and that unlike any other place poker is discussed on the web, will not be debated.
the purpose of forums is to debate things, and share knowledge, at least to me that is the purpose. (they did not say this, another poster did)
that is all i was trying to do was debate something like people do all the time on poker forums, and adam gets all huffy saying others shouldn't be able to start non question threads (not to mention the fact that i was asking a question:do you agree or disagree)
i also think that the semantics may have confused my point. when i say fun i mean, something i really enjoy and take pride in doing well. not a knee slapping good time. i mean concentrating intensely, watching for minutiae and playing the best you can and getting satisfaction out of it. not flirting with the waitress (well im not always perfect but i try) watching the game and reading a magazine fun, but something i enjoy just as much.
if things that are hard were not fun then i would agree with adam but theres no correlation between difficulty and enjoyment to me.
if adam really dosent enjoy the game and plays just for money i think his time is severely misspent. he is basically always broke give or take a couple of grand, and the game causes him untold stress. and if he dosent enjoy it why would he dump so much of his free time into these, by his own account, frustratingly non profitable endeavors. i know he will tell us about some glory days but if he takes a hard look at himself he will see that poker is not making him rich, so perhaps he does enjoy the game a little bit.
anyways we alll started playing poker for a reason and it wasnt initially the financial allure. i think the people who say they dont enjoy the game would play better if they did try to enjoy it more. i always play better when im enjoying the game.
