Analysis of my first 13K hands. Thought on these changes.

Over the last 5K hands I have been trying some new lines for some hands. After some analysis here is what I am going to attempt to change. What do you guys think?

Specific hands

1) Be more selective with A2. Don't call raises with mediocre A2's and generally play then less aggressively.

2) Only play AA+6,7,8 if it is suited and don't raise even in LP.

3) Only play good high only hands for a raise against bad opponents.

4) Play 234 is almost every situation

5) Don't play A5s from EP, or MP

6) Don't play bad A4s in EP.

General

7) Be more selective with 2 pair (esp Top 2).

8) Increase W$SD

9) Call less when passive players are betting into me (stop being a calling station).

10) Make less crying calls.

11) Limping pre-flop more with position and less without.

Edit: Changed AA+5,6,7 to AA+6,7,8
Edit: Willing to call raises with good high only hands against bad opponents.

1) Seems fair enough. I would still play all but the very worst A2s for a raise, and any A2 with a suited feature (generally), any A2 with another wheel card etc.

2) You need to play every AA IMO. I raise AA5 from anywhere, AA6 and AA7 are OK too if you've got a suited ace and/or some other decent connecting features.

3) I most definitely play high-only hands for a raise if they're half decent. They are better played against a raiser than a limper IMO, in some respects. Especialy in LAG games I think they have a lot of power. This is the decent ones (i.e. I'd call QQJT for a raise, any high wrap or one gapper, that sort of thing

4) 234 is reasonable, having another connecting low card or double suited makes it a lot better. Bare in mind you almost always need to see an ace on the flop...

5) A5 is garbage and needs to be mucked from every seat unless you have some serious help. A5KK would be an exception, but mostly A5s need to be folded IMO. In LP I guess you could try raising in specific situations, but I wouldn't be limping mediocre A5s much.

6) Agreed. To be honest I wouldn't play many A4s in EP (i.e. only the very best ones).

7) I really like 2 pair but maybe you've had some bad experiences with it. Amazing how many poor players are happy to get in with some low-orientated hand vs two pair basically putting in money just to get the same stake back if a low comes, also useful against people who over-value AA.

8) We'd all like to do that one  that's like saying "win more money".

9) Fair enough

10) Definitely useful, although I often make crying calls heads up with hands that are weak in both directions but combined probably have to be up against a very specific opponent hand to be scooped. Though I guess that's perhaps not a "crying call"

11) I think this needs to be a very serious priority for you, your PTO stats you posted suggest you're not taking NEARLY enough interest in position, though in a poor, loose PLO8 game it is true that position isn't as vital as it is in some other games (PLO for instance). Still food for thought though.

Best of luck
