What I am talking about is calling the flop bet with only backdoor draws and possibly drawing dead for high. By the ratio they seem to connect, you could almost deduce it to be profitable (you ALWAYS end up splitting when you have a nut high because some crappy low ALWAYS arrive), in a multiway pot. Now even *I* have started peeling flop bets if I have backdoor draws to the nuts... please tell me to stop that.

It is incredibly annoying and seems to happen a lot in O8 - all i'd say is this - on the few occasions they DO make it by chasing a backdoor low, they get the money back they put in. You don't directly lose out (and may make a few scraps if a third player is chasing too). However, on the majority of occasions (i.e. when low doesn't make), you not only win ALL of the pot, but ALL of the bets they put in to chase. Even if the backdoor low hits half the time (which it doesn't) you still "lose" nothing from the flop onwards when it does, and win the whole pot plus possibly two more BBs when it doesn.t

with lots of people in the pot, often chasing backdoor lows can be +EV.
