This week, after rereading Excessions great PT lessons, I finally convinced myself to put a few bucks into Party and give them a try again after many months. The insanity isnt quite so bad as I remember but the stack/blind ratio really sucks compared to Prima.

My questions are these. What criteria should i be using for my table selections? Excession recommends only 1 decent sized stack at the table, but so far this week, the players that have had them have gotten those stacks more by luck than any degree of skill and this has been up to about 4x the buyin. I have also tried to pick tables by pot size, and this seems to be a somewhat more accurate indicator of a "good" table.

Also, is there any way to see a "players seeing flop %" like there is on Prima? The tables I have sat down to in the 9-13$ pot size have had around a 20-25% seeing flop according to PT but I was wondering if there was another way to find this. thanks.

It's interesting at Party, but I actually think that there are worse players to be found at the NL $50 tables than the NL $25 tables. After watching my friend who has made the move to NL $50 and plays the 6-man tables, it's pretty amazing how aggressive players can be. My friend was up last night about 3.5 buyin's and he missed the flush draw last night and a horrible player bet into him on the river. After watching this player, and seeing his $10 bet into a $23 pot, I agreed with my friend to call with KING HIGH! For me, that is pretty much unimaginable, but after watching this opponent, I thought the risk was worth it...and the bettor has ten high...my friend took the pot.

I'm actually seeing some slightly tighter play at the NL $25 tables or maybe it's just the fact that the bankrolls are smaller with those who play at those tables. Now, I am not saying it's better play, but people actually don't call a pot sized bet with J7o on a board of Q 8 4; I cannot say the same thing at the NL $50 tables...

Anyway, bad players are abound everywhere, and I don't neccessarily like playing big stacks...but I have noticed that there are a tremendous amount of larger stacks on the NL $50 tables who have no clue at all and want to increase your bankroll. i think the best thing to be said about these 6-man tables is that it is easier to isolate the idiots...most of the time.

I'ts not so much that the big stack indicates good play, it's just that when you are selecting tables to observe, mutliple big stacks are more ikely to include a good player or two.

For me joining a table full of little stacks with one big stack who is a bad player is ideal.
