Let me start by saying that I'm glad that I stumbled upon this site. From what I can see the level of discussion is far more serious and well intended than at other sites. I've been playing for a living for 5 years now. I feel as though I have a good deal of expierance playing NL, but I'm just getting back into it online.

1. I was hopeing someone could explain to me why (from what I have noticed) there is very little talk of the NL on Party?
- I'm guessing this is do to the fact that there is a far smaller amount of "play" involved, and the different between players of differnet levels is essentialy smaller in the end? I would then also assume that the longterm profitabilaty would be slightly higher, but the swings would be much greater?

I'm sure this is something that has been covered here one million and five times. But I couldn't find it.
Hopefully I'm not chased away like i'm sure I would be at other forums for asking such a bland question.

Hope You are tooo rough on the NewGuys

I agree with kenny on party being Satans spawn. I think part of the reason that most of the players on this site dont like party is the blinds vs stack depth. The deeper the stacks compared to the blinds the more skill, I believe the game takes. Anyone can raise $10 with AA get 4 callers and raise all in on the flop after someone bets. There really is not a lot of skill in this and this is usually the case with party poker. The players are so bad and the blinds are so big compared to stack depths that often you are pot almost pot commited with your big pairs preflop. With $50 in a pot already and I have AA what else am I going to do after the flop. I am 90% of the time going to put all my chips in. This forum has quite a few very high skill level players and I believe that the way party works takes away a lot of that advantage. There are some pretty good rants about party poker in the anything goes section, if you want to know mine and Felonious Monks views on party poker.

At the lowest stake levels ($25 tables) the much easier release and frequency of Party/Empire reload bonuses takes away a lot of the variance risks.

Last week I was $200 up over 1000 hands at the Party $25's plus a $150 bonus release.

So far this week I'm $85 down at Party after 500 hands, but have a $150 bonus coming in another 500 so I'll still probably end the week up there (I'm up on UB and Prima this week too so I'm doing OK).

Of course it is very frustrating sometimes but that's why I have Rome Total War installed for stress-relief on the suckout days..now excuse me while I go and slaughter some Gauls :)

Well, I think Party is the easiest site to find fish who are willing to give you all their money in a hurry without compromising your type of play one bit. But, yeah, PP sure can provide big swings in your payroll...I'm starting to believe that the six handed tables are the key to victory there...isolating a few horrible players, although the blinds will kill you.

Hey, Excession, I'm an old MTW player. Never got R:TW, tho I heard it's an improvement. Very cool games those guys make. Just don't have the time to play computer games anymore, since I've found a more profitable game to play on the computer.

As for Party, sometimes I push them around. Sometimes they push me over the edge. Both the games and the players are rarely good, but NEVER dull. :)
