Don't know if this is the right spot to post this, but it is on DVD so why not? One of those movies I can never turn off when I see that it's on, but the question I've never been able to answer is this.......

At the end, when he goes into Teddy KGB's place he has $10,000.

He plays heads-up and doubles his money to $20,000.

He plays heads-up again and doubles to $40,000.

This is where the game ends.

But then after he leaves, he says that he turned his $10,000 into just over $60,000. Where do they get this number from?

Just something that's been bothering me every time I see the movie.

he tells teddy he can reload at any time so i think we miss a lot of action when teddy gets tilted when Mike McD mentions his tell and loses a bit and reloads.

What always killed me was the first hand he has KK, blinds are 25/50 i believe and he makes it 2k straight with the hand. WTF? 40xbb raise? Teddy reraised 5k of his 10k and folds getting 3:1 on his money. If he has an ace, the odds say to call unless he think Mike has AA.

Later in the hand that ends it, mike just doubles the blinds with 89s. His raises tell a lot about his hands and his body motions and how he says things during that hand screamed "I have a monster." Teddy asks if he is drawing while the only draw on the 67T board is a 45 or 85 as the board was rainbow and 89 already makes a straight.

Seeing that kinda stuff, If i had the bankroll and the mentality for that high stakes, i could play at that game if they keep acting like that.

My favorite part of the movie is where Mike takes a 10k check to an all night check cashing place and gets 10k in cash with no fee. Nice.

I'd say THE biggest hole in the story is that he doesn't go for it with Famke Janssen, it just isn't possible.

Briachek, that was the only thing I thought was possible too. That we miss a lot of the action. Very poorly explained though.

I really hadn't seen the movie since I started really learning how to play and this was the first time I actually really paid attention to the play. The KK hand was ridiculous. Give him the blinds unless you have AA. Then again they were actors and these are the same guys that wrote "Tilt". I still love the movie though.

I think he musta had some pocket money, maybe $100 or so on him to pay for cashing the 10K check.

Meh, yeah- 4 betting and folding to a five bet in limit holdem is probably not something that johnny would do. But, i still have to agree with molina that the biggest hole in the movie is that he doesnt go for famke even after his beyotch dumps his ass, and as a result, we dont get to see any titties, which in my opinion, means that you might as well take out some of the cusswords and rate the damn thing PG!

I mean, Famke is usually just alright lookin these days, (gettin old and all that) but in THAT movie, ive always thought shes one of the hottest chicks around. Mikey McD is a testicle, is all i have to say.
