I've been noticing quite a few people talk about this.

I've been thinking about picking it back up when my playing time increases, mostly for the bonus clearing benefits that come with it.

As hard as I try, I cannot 4 table stud h/l, but I think that I can probably do so with the old O8.

Are there enough games out there to make this viable?

The next big thing will be whatever is showing on TV. People are sheep and will want to play what they see on TV. I noticed a jump in the number of games on PLO8 and PLO after the WSOP events for that were shown.

The thing that will stop PLO8/PLO from being the next big thing will also be the quickness that newbies get cutup. Someone who plays "any 4 cards" and thinks a flopped set is a huge hand will get it handed to them fairly quickly, get discouraged and go back to holdem.
