Shorthanded, UTG+1 (6 player table).

Hero: Dealt 78s

UTG Folds, Hero Calls, UTG+2 calls, UTG +3 folds, SB calls, BB Checks.

FLop: Ks 10s 3s

Action: Check, Check, I fire potsize bet $8, UTG +2 calls, BB min check-raises, he is new at table but I see a lot of players make this move with 2 pair/set. I pop it up to 40 to see where I'm at and get a higher spade off draw if possible. UTG+2 folds, BB calls.

Turn: Qc

BB checks, I move him in for last 60.

Like my play or not up to this point?

I like it. You flopped the flush (118:1) and the chances he has it is slim. He probably thinks you are pushing the King with the flush draw or straight and flush draw. Being that its so rare to flop a flush and you were so direct, he likely doesn't put you on it. This is what I would do and be thankful (for now at least) that I'm getting action with a big hand.

You have to think you are ahead here, and you are getting him pot commited to draw to his single high card if that is what he is drawing at. If he flopped a bigger flush so be it that one of those hands in poker where you are desitined to go broke.

Does everybody agree with Rhound? Is flopped flush over flopped flush something you're willing to go broke with, like set over set? Or are you a little more careful with a low flopped flush?

In my very first no-limit hand where I saw the flop at a real money table, I lost most of my $2.00 stack when my flopped flush was beaten by a higher one. I think that memory is seared into my brain and I haven't recovered. I think I still play these way too scared.

So I want to like the way you're playing this, Mr. Prodigy. But at the same time I'm scared for you this hand.

I would think that flush over flush is a LOT more rare than set over set is it not?

This is also a 6 handed table so there is a lesser chance of two people having the flush.

Sorry you are right. I punched he number into my calculator wrong. Which means that my other % is wrong too. My recaluction is one in 283 with two people both with suited cards.

In response to Ice, I happened to limp this hand. I tend to raise it around 50% of the time myself, not liking my position this hand I decided to limp, ready to call a raise. Plus my preflop raises were not getting much respect at the time because I was raising so often. Anyways, results:

BB held J6s for higher flush. I didn't think there was anything I could do about it. I feel I would have got the same exact situation up against 2 pair or a set. Just wanted to make sure general consensus was about the same. Thanks all who commented
