not much to report except that I can't wait til I finish bodog so I can get my money out of there. I have way too much in there and want it back. Plus, because they don't often have a good range of games, i'm often playing the 25's which isn't making me enough money. I'm in a break even/slightly positive streak this month and I don't have too many bonuses helping me so I need to finish this so I can put time in elsewhere. WIth moving and vegas, my time is already short so i need to make some cash. Luckily, after a couple bills, I should be paid up for most of my stuff through feb so most of that month can make up for the past two for the increased expenses.

I'm going to vegas for pretty much 5 days but I'm expecting it to cost me money with hanging out and such so if I can win enough on the tables to make it break even or a profit, that's a huge relief.

A rundown of what's happened. I had to play on Bodog's terrible software for 2 hours and finished the damn bonus and got the money out of there. I won almost $60 doing it but should have been much more because of two hands.

One, I get sucked out at PLO50 for a $100 pot by a guy that was short and put it all in on the flop with oesd and nothing else vs my top set. He rivers it. Ok, no big deal. Now the one that REALLY pissed me off. I turn the nut flush against someone that had the flop top set in a raised pot. I have position and he checks to me and I bet the pot, putting in about 3/4 of what i have left. He times down and uses his disconnection protection to be all in so he doesn't have to call any more money. Luckily the river didn't pair the board and I win but I should have had 30-40 more on that hand. Apparently he does this all the time but claims its because he's on dial up in Alaska. However, it only acts up during key points in hands when he doesn't want to call big bets. Well, I called and reported him along with the hand number and another hand where he did the same thing to another guy. His name is imallin1111 on Bodog if anyone ever see him.

That night, I decide to play 1/2 stud on Interpoker to finish the $120 in bonus from december. I'm 125 points away and its actually been clearing pretty fast, about 45 points an hour 2 tabling. Well I go on the most unbelievable run of cold and dead cards and a decent amount of suck outs too. Seriously, I saw 4th street about 6% of the time in 200 hands. I was down as much as $120 at one point. However, I was so close to the damn bonus, I said "fuck it, i'm finishing." I continue and stay about even at $120 down. In the last half hour, I get the most amazing run of cards that actually hold up. I'm playing 3 tables and i'm getting a flush draw in 5 cards on one, aces on another that hits two pair and hold and split 4's on another that i limp in lp for family pot to hit trips on 4th and win a monster pot. This happens over and over again and after 30 minutes, i've finished the bonus and i'm actually up $10. WTF? I can't remember a run like that ever. It was super sweet.

I thought i was due an extra $30 in bonus that interpoker offered me but apparently that's only if I finish the bonus in december. God damnit!

I played PLO50 on stars yesterday and the first session was frustrating. I lose QQ top set to nut flush draw and backdoor straight draw and then bleed out more for a 66 buck loss. I played a little more late last night and ran into aistheisis. He's trying to learn but it doesn't take much to beat these guys as he learned. I finished up about 30.

River: ($78.65) [5h] (2 players)
Hero bets $17.3 (All-In), Button folds.

Final Pot: $95.95

I got really lucky on this as I misread my hand. Somehow I thought I had the straight, top two and a higher oesd. Where's this 9 in my hand that I thought I had? I didn't realize it til I was talking to Aistheisis about it. the pfr was a maniac and probably had the flush draw. I'm lucky the turn bettor didn't have the straight. :D

Its so far been a little more than a break even month for me in terms of poker play. Not sure why as I don't think I am doing too much wrong but its just how it goes. I could be losing so I guess I can't complain. However, now I'm pretty much out of bonus for the month and I will be moving and settling into a new place and going to vegas. Time is hard to come by so I hope this picks up and I will be highly motivated for February.

Its been a really tiring weekend and I'm only finally settled in. I moved to a new place on Sunday so therefore I smartly decided to pull an all nighter on Saturday to get packed and such. What was perfect was that about midnight, it started to snow and the temperature took a huge drop. Just the other day I could walk outside comfortably in shorts and a t-shirt and now its about 0 degrees with the windchill with 4 inches of snow/ice. Perfect. To make matters better, the 24 foot truck we rented wouldn't start so they downgraded us to a 15 foot truck which meant definitely 2 trips. Luckily it wasn't that far but still, that sucks.

My friends slowly arrived and by the end we had 9 total people moving us. Not too bad. Took about 5 hours or so to move a house full of stuff to another big place but it all got there and the only thing damaged was my computer desk which I got fixed monday night. I finally set up everything last night and played some poker for the first time since friday too.

It seemed the break did me some good and the fact that paradise players don't know what they are doing, I was up over 100 in 50 hands, bleed out a bit but finished with an 80 victory and 30 more in bonus. Twice I was either raised or check raised all in on the river when i had the nut flush against the King high flush. that's super sweet.

One hand, if it went my way would have been great. I'm in the sb with AA23, 3 clubs and its raised to 1.50 and we get about 6 total players. Flop comes K24, 2 clubs. Checks around to a stack of about 37, he bets pot. One caller who only has 2 bucks left. I cover all and only 2 short stacks (10-15) to act and I push. One fold and one call all in and bettor calls all in. Turn is a 2, river a Qc and I lose it all as bettor had 44. Oh well. With that many shorties in there, I'll take my chances.

Next, I'll be playing on martins as their bonus is too sweet too pass up. I hope to make decent progress with it before vegas next week and pretty much finish it up the week I come back. Once that all clears, the next month or two looks to be mighty nice.

With the party bonus out there and some free time on my hands last night, i decided to kill the whole $75 bonus or 750 raked hands. I finished it playing 6 tables of plo25 for a little more than 3 hours. 950 hands later, I was $105 total richer thanks to a couple suck outs but also thanks to a couple hands that held up.

Sickest beat:

This guy didn't seem to be too good plus he was in a fight with someone else at the table so thought he was tilting so I went for it.

ended up 105 total with the 75 bonus in a bout 3.25 hours. Not too bad but if I just win one of the two suck outs, i'm up 35-50 more or 85 more.

On to martins.

Bri... it looks like I'm gonna start having these horribly long, illegible posts too, as I think I'm gonna start heading more to the PLO realm, as I've just been in a total rut at NLHE for the last couple weeks... And, since you're the only one I know that even posts about PLO, I wanna ask a question about a hand I played last night...

I get dealt [Ks] [Kd] [Qd] [Jc] OTB... I limp along with 700 others...

Flop [Kc] [6h] [5h] ...

EP bets $1.30 ... MP calls... I raise pot (like $6 somethin) ... EP folds... MP pooooshes... Is this a good call???

Turned out he had [Ah] [2h] [7c] [8c] ... turn put the 3rd heart out there... But, my poker skills shined out in the end, and hit my river [Kh] for quads...

Was this a good way to play this...? Should I ALWAYS be ready to go to the mattresses w/ top set if there's no obvious better made hand out there...?

Maybe this is a dumb question, but I'm still learnin PLO some...

yeah, i push that hand because for all the times he has a hand like he had, he will have a smaller set, naked flush draw, two pair, ect to easily make this extreme +EV. Even against your opponent's hand, you are 57% to win (cardplayer) which makes it good right there. Even if he has 9874 suited in both hearts and diamonds, he is only 57% to win and with the money in the pot, you call anyway. Unless stacks are deep, I will always get all in with top set on a board where no straights or flushes are yet possible. If the stacks are deep, you may want to play more cautiously.

LV trip report. I will leave most of the main stories to MVP for now since as we all know, he has a talent for such stories. Look to one of his journals for the stories. If he gets lazy and doesn't get to them, you'll have to deal with me telling them instead.

Weds Jan 25th - The longest day

Me and my friends Tom (pnutbutr on BTP) and Nelson head to the airport at 5:30 am. I wasn't gonna get much sleep if I tried so I just stayed up all night while they napped. I was driving so I figured this might be better for me since I wouldn't be that tired and I could sleep on the plane. We get there with a decent amount of time to spare but not too much and the flight starts. We had a slight delay from what the pilot described as "a random electron messing with their radio" which really put me at ease. :? We finally took off and I was able to be in and out of sleep for a little more than 4 hours of the almost 6 hour flight so its all good.

We got in and Nelson contacted the rent a care place called Rent-a-Vette which is a high end car rental place. He loves his fast cars and is will to pay for them. If there wasn't 3 of us, he would have rented a porsche but he rented a Roush Ford Mustand GT Convertible. To say this car was a sweet ride is not saying enough. This fucker was fast and smooth. We ended up not driving it enough but we enjoyed gunning it to every red light. We got some nice looks and compliments from people too.

We had some In and Out Burger which they don't have on the east coast. Limited menu but very good burgers. We then checked into the Gold Coast and then met MVP, Kenny and Suhleafs at the Mirage. When we got there, Suhleafs and Kenny were in a SNG but MVP was on a 1/2 nl table already bitching about how he got sucked out in second place in his SNG. Does this guy ever stop complaining about poker?

I didn't know what to expect when i saw him but he was much calmer than I thought. Thought he would be some overactive kid in need of Ritilian (spelling). He's still an asshole, which he'll be first to admit, but he's damn entertaining and good to hang out with. Suhleafs.....well, he's definitely Canadian.

Didn't play long at the table but finished up a couple bucks mainly for one pot that I played after suhleafs joined the table. Flop was TT3 after i completed in sb with Q9s and he was in bb. Checked around. turn is Q, i make small bet and get called by leafs and one other guy. I'm shutting down til the river comes which is a Q. I bet about 15, leafs folds, other guy raises and i put the rest of it in and we split (raked was already maxed). He had the Q and leafs had a T and leafs complains of the running case 2 outs. My thought.....don't slowplay, hehe.

While we were playing, my two friends played some craps and Kenny left to do a $1000 tourney at the Bellagio. We leave and leafs and MVP go to eat and I hang with my friends who win a bit at craps. We pull a hit and run at casino war for 1 hand, 10 bucks each and win. The table game hit and run became one of our favorite moves and we were 5 for 6 for a hefty profit overall. I was only involved in about $30 total of it since I'm not too big into it so up an extra $30 isn't bad.

We end up wandering for a bit and see the Big Game at the Bellagio. Johnny Chan, Jennifer Harmon, Doyle, David B. (the french guy, can't spell his last name, too lazy to look it up) and Chip Reese were there. We end up back at the Mirage for some poker and we are all stuck at a 3/6 limit table til a couple 1/2 nl spots open for me and nelson. Kenny busts and comes by and sits at the table and plays like a complete jackass. I managed to get KK sucked out by K4s before i move to a 1/2 nl table, thank god.

Only two hands of interest. I limp with 77 after a few limpers and the flop is 79Jr. $10 bet to me and i make it $30. a guy to my left and my buddy nelson folds reluctantly "because it was me" and the original bettor calls.. Hes a good player that can play a wide variety of hands. Turn is a T, he checks, I bet 30 and he calls. River is a blank and he checks, I check because I've seen him play a nut straight like this to CR the river. He had J9 and I win but that T slowed me down.

hand 2. I limp with TT utg as people love to call raises against a pfr so i want a good flop. many callers. Flop is 636. I bet about 10, 1 caller. Turn is blank, I bet 30, i should have slowed down. He calls and says to me "33?" He respects my game as most people end up doing. River is another blank, I bet 30 as a blocking bet to get a cheap showdown. He just calls with 65 out of respect to me. Shit. I should have lost less. I knew I was beat. I end up 41 down for 3/6 limit and up $20 from nl so its not too bad.

We ate the Mirage buffet which was pretty disappointing. To be honest. through the whole trip, I didn't enjoy or eat enough at any buffet to make it worth it. We met up with leafs and mvp and headed to a strip club. There was some funny stories from that which I leave to MVP. One note, Kenny and strip clubs is bad for Kenny's bankroll. Seriously, the guy loves these women too much.

We left kenny there because we were beat and up over 24 hours with very little sleep. MVP and Leafs dropped us off and they went to a tourney at binions while kenny continued to have fun at the club.

Played at the Orleans the next day. Had two drunken russians at our table. One was funny and decently nice and another was just a dick. The dick made the worst bluffs ever and basically my $100 in profit was just picking them off from him and calling him down and letting him bluff. He would bet, you call and he immediately mucks. He seemed to only bluff small into me but huge into my friend nelson who finished up 700 because of it due to those bluffs and hitting quads against some idiot with just a straight who paid him off full.

Later went to the Monte Carlo where all of us met for some drinking. Now I normally can hold my liquor but we had set up 3 shots in front of us which we had to drink with no chasers and did it all in 5 min or less. A shot of 151, jamesons and rumplemints. We later did a Jagr Bomb. Now I was feeling fine at first while everyone was immediately drunk. However 15 min later, it all hit me and I was feeling damn good. However, 151 burns so much and i hate whiskey so jameson's was bad too.

Friday was some playing at Ceasars where I had the AJ hand that was listed above in one of the links. I still was up about 100 but I was pissed.

That night, we went to "9" steakhouse in the Palms. I got chicken because i prefer chicken to steak but everyone else got steak as well as a bunch of side dishes and everything was the best i've ever had. I tried their steaks and I have never had anything as close to those ever. I highly recommend going there if you want a good meal in vegas and got a little money to spend. Nelson, being a good friend he is with a bit of extra money, picked up the tab for me, tom, and kenny. How about that shit huh?

We decide to head to the Palms bar to just chill and see how many hookers we can spot at the bar as Kenny learned hanging out at the Treasure Island bar, there are a lot of them. A group of girls end up sitting at the next table and start talking to my friend nelson who is being charming and such. Then Kenny decides to get in on the action and move to a chair nearing them, completely cockblocking nelson and the conversation breaks down. Nelson def could have gotten them to join us but Kenny screwed it up and knew it. He'll learn one day.

On saturday, we just wanted to chill a bit so me, tom and nelson went to gameworks, a hourly video arcade by MGM. I know what you are thinking? what the fuck are you doing in an arcade in vegas? Well, we wanted a break damnit. After, we played at MGM where I lost 300 right away due to keep getting everything reraised and losing flush over flush for 200 as shown in one of the links above. I took a walk and later sat back down in a better seat at the same table and took 240 off one calling station lady in 3 hands

Hand 1 - First hand back

I post in LP and get ATh and just check. Flop is AT9. Checks to me, i bet pot, she calls in sb. Turn is 10, I bet 1/2 pot, she calls. River is 8, she leads out 20, i raise her all in to 60 or so and she folds. Can't believe she folded.

Hand 2 - She double up and now has about 80. I get QQ in MP and raise to 12, 2 callers. Flop it J23. check to me and I bet 25 and she calls on button, bb folds. Turn is 2, I put her all in, she calls with KJ and I win. Love calling stations. If she knew me at all, she knows I have at least AJ.

Final hand, she reloaded and busts a guy and has about 120. I raise in mp with AQ, a few callers including her. Flop is A96. I bet 30, only she calls. Turn is 7, I bet 45, she calls. River is 7, I bet 30 as a value bet and i knew i should have bet more as i should have just put here in. She calls with AT. She busts out a couple hands later and leaves. No more reason to stay so i leave now only down about 60. Not too bad.

Kenny was playing there too and so we all leave and pick up our car at the NY NY and while going there, there are a bunch of girls getting into a limo, one with a large blow up penis. Tom yells "Big Penis!" and turns away to see what happens. They can't spot him but they do when he yells a second time and they call us over so we go.The girl with the penis is getting married and hot and has to get 60 people to sign the penis before she gets married. She tried to say that her friends are single but they immediately jump in the car. Apparently we aren't what they are looking for.

We met up with leafs and MVP and went to the Hard Rock Hotel and had some drinks and just an overall good time for a few hours. There's a good story in there about how much of a smooth talker I am to the ladies which once again i will leave to MVP since he witnessed it first hand and I'm sure he'll do a good job. If he gets lazy, I'll do it myself.

Leafs had an early flight and we had to return the car early so we left and got like 2 hours of sleep before we woke up.

Sunday, returned the car, checked out and checked our bags and met up with Kenny and MVP at Ceasars for something to eat. We didn't really feel like playing but we had time to kill so we just sat in this food court and told stories, basically MVP being degenerate, for a few hours. It was fucking hilarious as he's got some good stories he hasn't even told yet.

We ended up playing for a couple hours and i made almost 400 due to the first pot listed in the AA hand in the link above.

Had an uncomfortable ride home on the plane and got no sleep and was home 8am EST to sleep.

I know I didn't put as many stories as I wanted but that's a general rundown. Anyone want more details or anything, either wait for MVP's stories or just ask.

It was def a fun trip and the thing i'm pissed off about is my poker play. I should be up over a grand instead i'm up about 460. I let the amount of money get to me and maybe i've been playing plo too much i'm seeing monsters under the bed. I out thought myself out of pots I knew I should have called and I am more pissed about that than anything.

Ok, i'm done for now. i will look this over later and add in anything i need to add. I'm sure this isnt as entertaining as MVP's recount but I can't compete with that. I'm jurst recovering from the trip and having a good time since i've been back. Met a nice girl and gonna have a second date on friday so we'll see how things go. Maybe things are turning around for me.
