Hey tommy,
You're play with that AK wasn't that bad.. Your opponent was shortstacked and you hit your hand. There are many times here your opponent will hold a small ace or even somthing like a high pocket and not give you the ace. So i wouldn't fret long on that one. I would have lost it all too...I'm sure Ice would have as well.
As for the KK....I must say I hate your play throughtout the hand...nothing personall ! You make a small raise preflop..ok..no big deal...you get reraised by the big stack...ok...making it $8.50 to go after he just made it to $5 accomplishes nothing, especially with your stacks. You need to put a large reraise out there to make him think about his hand, and not give him odds to catch trips on you. He probably would have called anyway with QQ to a large reraise..but at least you had him dominated before the flop and were giving him incorrect odds to call..
On the flop...bet bigger!! You need to identify what your opponents has. A weak lead will not do that, and if he does raise you...you won't know what he has..which is a bad thing because you two have such huge stacks.
Check on the turn was ok.
River...you might have induced a bluff. I must say I admire this guy's all-in..most of the time they don't do that with a hand. But still..you shouldn't call this. Not after you've worked the whole night, just to risk it all on a mediocre situation. This is where your disiciplne must take over.
BTW...AA, KK , and AQ were also very strong possibilties for this guy, the way it all unfolded..
Better luck to you man! Keep at it and you'll learn how to idenify these type hands the more you play. Don't take my critism too harshly..just trying to help you the best i know how.
