On the Subject of an Idiot.
Current mood: calm

Before I start, thanks for the kudos on my last entry. It was hilarous I know. Thats what happens when you don't have a life. You end up writing crazy commentaries on your poker hands. Now more on topic...

Zeejustin is an ass, plain and simple. Using 6 accounts on one tournament is morally unjustifiable. Those of you who don't know... Zeejustin is a mojor internet poker pro. He's 20 and makes a killing playing tournaments. He's also a big cahoot in the poker community. His posts on the 2+2 forums and his web site helped a lot of people out. I even had this guy on my myspace friend's list since I respected his game.

Then we see the true nature of things. He cheats. He has many accounts on different poker sites, all of which he will use to enter a tournament. So a player like myself, who buys in once, has "1" chance to win. Zeejustin would have more like "6." He can atone for higher variance play since his stack really isn't in jeporady. If he loses on a high variance play on one account...oh well, he has 5 more. I'm not even going into if he ends up on the same table with himself. Could you imagine two of his accounts on one final table??

His blind arrogance coupled along with ignorance make for one sick puppy. So long to your endorsements buddy, they just dried up. Say bye bye to your fan base too. The whole world just collasped on you.

Screw you for making online poker a much less safe place.

I am no longer owned by taxes. (plus a vegas story.)
Current mood: happy

Taxes are done. Although I still have to send out the check, all the hard work has come to a close. Gambling tax law is a complete pain not to mention that I suck at math.

HR Block fixed my previous return and saved me probably a thousand dollars on '05. Thanks guys, I appreicate it. They also set up an estimated payment plan for this year. The first payment is due April 17th. I don't particular like the idea of a payment plan but I will avoid penalties this way.

I also purchased the HR Block audit protection insurance. It was $30 and basically covered $5000 in extra tax plus a lawyer. Now for you poker whizzes..that's actually pretty ugly pot odds. Pay $30 to win $5000 when my chance of getting audited is about 1 in 696. I'd have to make $20k just to break even in the long run. :) Oh well, peace of mind gives me a few more outs. (wow that was lame!)
---------------------------------------------------------------------

A vegas story:

All of us decided to hit up a strip club that I could actually see from my window at Treasure Island. I can't remember the name of it, but for my viewer's sake, we'll call it "Kenny's House of Unfufilled Dreams." Everyone was there: Kennyg, Briachek and his 2 friends (Tom and Nelson), Suhleafs, and MVP.

So we all get there and walk in the door. It was a pretty high admission charge but hey, naked women were waiting for me. A man in a suit comes up to us and asks if we would like to get the "VIP deal." The VIP deal consists of us getting an incredible booth with free, horrible nonacholic champagne. The whole thing was $100. Somehow (and to this day we don't know who) accepted the deal. UGH!

When I say this booth was incredible, I mean incredible as in super ripoff from hell. There was no point. The booth was far away from the action and uncomfortable. Lousy start to my trip in paradise.

Anyway, I go up to the stage and start throwing dollar bills everywhere. Finally some chicks come up to me and beg me for a dance. I happily oblige. She takes me back to the private area where you lay down as she does her thing. I was comfortable. They had no idea what was coming to them.

Just think of piles and piles of money being donated to hot girls dancing naked. My bankroll falling from the sky and caressing there gunshot wounded bodies, comforting their souls (crap wait..strippers don't have souls.)

So after about a half hour with the first dancer and god knows how long for the second, the girls start to realize something is up. A dream man is in the house. That man is kennyg. Who needs a bankroll anyway?

While all of this wonderful erotic dancing goes on, a strange thing happen. I didn't witness this but heard all about it from my cohorts. Brian's friend Tom (real nice guy) was sitting calmly talking to MVP and Brian. He didn't want to get any dances because he loves his gf and all that fun stuff. I'm fine with that. But the crazy strippers had other ideas.

As he was conversating, all of a sudden a hot stripper starts rubbing all over him. He takes this in stride. Then all of a sudden, she pulls up the table, lays on it and proceeds to rub her love fountain all up on his grill (by grill i mean face.) Poor Tom is taken aback!

He quickly grabs two dollars from his wallet and while the girl is doing her slut dance, he stands up and throws the bills onto her chest. He walks away as she continues her dance. He does it in such a way to make sure the girl knows shes a whore! But wait, there's more! Tom realizes he took out two dollars instead of one and in a hurried responce tries to get his dollar back. Afterall, he rightfully earned that dollar. The whore girl without a soul only deserves one. Alas, it was too late. He could not get his dollar back.

This is so hilarous if you know Tom. He's one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet, and the way MVP describes him throwing the dollar bills onto the girl harshly, then trying to reclaim them is utter comedic genius.

But back to the main character now, the man you all know as kennyg. Apparently as I was getting dancing from some girls (i will never forget you hot russian looking chick), other girls were asking the BTP crowd for me by name. I had become a popular fellow.

At the end of the night... (I stayed after by myself since they wanted to go to binions) I ended up getting a taxi back to Treasure Island. At the close of it all, I think I was down $600 to various women.

Then I saw HER at the bar on my way back to the room........ sorry fellas, another story for another time. :)

------------------------------------------------------------------

Poker is still going great. I've been on a semi-losing streak but that's ok. I had a good night tonight. I didn't play my best but I came out in the postive. I need to reevaluate my play with pocket pairs. If my winrate stays where it is as 30k hands, I will have a certain anouncement to make. I'm sure a lot of you know what that means!

Good luck everybody!

well that was close to how it happened but actually completely wrong so for tom's sake, i will correct the details.

We are at the main stage and they don't always give each guy a private show for the $1 they put down but this girl targeted tom. He's sitting between me and mvp. Well, she puts her legs around his shoulders and shows him all the moves she learned in stripper school. She pulls back like she is done and gonna get back fully on stage and move on when tom pulls out some money to give to her and starts to hand to her. However, she's not done, she's just repositioning so he's in the awkward spot of holding money out for her when she's not done so he starts to pull back. He realizes that pulling back the money is just as insulting so he practically drops it on her. She decides that its time to finish and moves away since tom is saying to her "i've had enough of you whore, take some money and leave me alone."

Me and MVP look each other and bust out laughing and tom can't help but smile but feel embarrassed. Of course we don't let him forget this including MVP waving dollars on Tom the next day.

Disagreement
Current mood: calm

I've noticed lately that my views on hands have changed. I swear half the hands posted on livepokerforum.com, I now disagree with the advice given. Well, "half" is probably an overstatement. Still it has got me to thinking:

Pretty much everyone on BTP is a winning player. That being said, it seems to me a lot of value is being lost. It could be that Bodog players (the site I mostly play on) or the fact I'm playing 5/10NL might require a whole different mindset. That may be a small part but......

Aggression and image are so key. The opposition doesn't know how to handle a good, aggressive player w/ a loose image. There's a winner on my 5/10 tables that plays regularly, but constantly loses value against me. I steal from him and he's too afraid to bet against me, for fear of being raised. True, he wins against the other players... but I wonder how much his winrate suffers because of his fear.

If you have a legit bankroll, your stack should not matter. Use it in the best way possible. If that means I'm going to call a high variance draw all-in when I'm a 60-40 underdog, well so be it. I need people to think I'm crazy. And really in the long run, that's not a huge loser. Besides, at that point in the hand, there will be a decent amount of money in the pot anyway.

The key is later on they will push and i will have a set..... or i will push with the nuts and they will call with top pair. I get a rediculous amount of value on my hands.

Last time I played, I had a regular call me down with top pair on 3 streets. I had flopped the nuts, then a 4 straight board hit the river. He still called my large bets w/ just top pair. That's all image.

My brother told me I should switch names. I thought about it, but don't see a reason to, since a lot of Bodog people think I'm an aggressive idiot. And that's ok. What they think doesn't matter. What matters is I control the table, they fear me, and my winrate stays high.

Variance be damned. If you think you're ahead, call that all-in, make that crazy river value bet. You'll be right more often then not. If you do end up being wrong, make a mental note and it'll improve your game in the long run.

Follow those instincts.

Hi Kenny,

I don't think that there are many players at your level (in terms of stakes, BR, and playing ability). Your metagame on Bodog is sufficiently different from me playing 100NL on party or some other site. Your image carries over between sessions whereas each session on Party, I start with basically a new image to everyone on the table. I understand what you are saying in your post, but I have the feeling that it doesn't apply to me due to the stakes / limits I play at. It is not an issue of BR management for me - I am out to make the most $/hour - not necessarily the most BB/100. I would adopt any strategy within my BR to accommodate this.

I look forward to your thoughts.

Time to brag.
Current mood: ecstatic

Two official decrees by Kennyg:

----------------------------------------------
Laugh all you want but these two statements are true. I now have 25400 (est.) hands on $1000 no limit games. Basically I just count every hour as 150 hands, as thats a reasonable expectation playing 2.5 tables on Bodog.

I have a remarkable, incredible 26BB/100 winrate (13PTBB/100) on 5/10NL (mostly bodog, some party FR and party 6 max.) 25k hands may be a small sample, but surely it is now "in the ballpark."

I won't say my hourly rate, but at the moment it is way beyond what I thought possible.

Some people will look at this and think I'm full of shit, and that's fine. But know this - if I did wanna lie about my winrate, I wouldn't make it so damn high. Looking at this number is still unbelievable to me. I have every single session written down for tax purposes. I have notes on each session, start and stop time, money won/lost etc.

You could always ask Briachek too, as he will often come by to watch me stomp on the little people.

So yes, I have declared myself the shit. And I hope to stay lucky. I'm being arrogant now but I understand that poker isn't all skill. I hope luck and variance don't come back to punish me now that I've had my say. It has every other time though....... :)

Good luck everyone! Keep working and studying hard. 5/10NL was always my dream from when I started playing... I'm proof that it all can pay off in the end.
