A train, are you A train on UB?

my numbers are similar to gooper's (whose stats might be skewed a bit due to SH play):

8.67 high
2.15 low
7.04 scoop

unlike gooper, i made a killing off of high hands. i culled this from the database i used for the first few months i played (approx. 15k hands). these numbers are the bb/hand times 100.

All high - 15 bb/100
All high (T or better) - 32 bb/100
All high no blind - 36 bb/100
All high no blind (T or better) - 66 bb/100

as such, yes, i agree that high hands have a lot of value.

on the theoretical level, i think these hands have value due to the fact that they can scoop, whereas low-oriented hands have a harder time of it. that being said, i think that these hands are not always easy to play -- often it's correct to dump a decent draw to the nuts if a villain has made the pot HU on a low board due to a bet, raise, or reraise. i've read in several places that high-oriented hands do well if it's HU pf, but some people might disagree with me on that. it makes sense to me. they also do well in family pots due to the fact that you don't care if you split the pot.

as for only playing hands that scoop, i think that this is largely true for "bigger" games that have decent players. in these games, most pots are contested HU -- very few family pots. in these games, playing for low only is a bit silly. on the other hand, on the loose online games, you can play for half the pot in a profitable way. as with the high, you don't care if you split, and that's even with the risk of being quartered.
