Poker has been good to me...

Nothing earth shattering, as I am just grinding out a bonus here and there (mostly Martins) and my good hands are holding up for the most part...

I picked up a bit in 100NL last night...I also got a stack or more at PLO while Bri was coaching me-that was fun...

Now the best part---

anyone you has been reading my "stuff" knows I love the SNGs, and I have done pretty well with them...I just moved to the 20s, pretty much all I'm gonna play unless I'm just goofin' around...

1st one---20 SNG NL---I played really well, got some cards and was chip leader a long time...was a great battle at the end which went on and on...I came up short, but was very happy with my play...

PokerStars Tournament #18440664, No Limit Hold'em
Buy-In: $20.00/$2.00
9 players
Total Prize Pool: $180.00
Tournament started - 2006/01/21 - 21:25:44 (ET)
Dear bobby,
You finished the tournament in 2nd place.
A $54.00 award has been credited to your Real Money account

it was a great battle, and I had him out chipped going in so I was a bit irritated at myself...

#2

This was a phukkin classic, as I was chastised by the 4th place person as he watched me....It was my first railbird commentary!! I found out from this genius that I did not know how to play a big stack, and let the short stacks off too easy...I guess I will have to work on that in the future!! so--------------

Another slow bunch of poker days...I haven't been able to get anything going to any extent...I won a stack or two at dise, while barely breaking even at Martins...

I did the reload at dise---that bonus is looking better and better...

I have had fun yakkin' with some BTP'ers...getting to know Bri...MVP is a funny guy...Was nice to chat with allstar as well-I didnt know he was a wall street guy...We ran into black night at Martins as well...I probably forgot someone, but it's fun chattin' with all you guys...

BR is around 5800 at the end of January, so all is well, but a little slower than would like..

martins sucks and i can't wait til i'm done there. about 3k hands to go for me so i'll be there for a while. I just decided to do the paradise bonus first which is about half down in 1 day so a couple days and i'll be back to hating martins with everyone else for about 40 hours.

It has been awhile since the last update, and still without a helluva lot to say! For one of the only times in my life, I have not been feeling well for quite a little while, so for the first time in 10 years, I am going to the doctor later this afternoon. It sucks feelin' like shit all the time with no energy--- so hopefully it will be an EZ fix. I haven't had any thing worse than a head cold in MANY years...I am feeling much better now though...

Since I was feeling better the other day, and managed to get in a few hours at the 100 NL, but proceeded to get my ass kicked-LOL it figures! I still have TONS of bonuses to get thru this month, and with the 3 day weekend coming up, hopefully I can bang 'em out as quickly as possible.

I have been doing a lot of reading, and have finished several books in the last couple of weeks. All I can say is, it is no wonder why the USA is so hated in so many different countries. Political commentary is not my specialty, so I will leave it at that.

It will be nice when Martins kicks in!!

The Good and the Bad

Thanks for checking in Kenny...The hot streak has missed me so far !

The BAD is first!

Poker---Feb was awful...I didn't play my usual hours the first 2 weeks of the month, so I was way behind on my "usual" bonuses...I don't think I was on my game 100% either, so that may have cost me a few bucks as well...I have not added it all up, but there is no doubt last month will be a loser, even after the few bonuses I picked up...Last night was brutal, in that I got stacked off at the 200NL game at Stars...It was rather annoying, and I think it was a horrible beat. I need to run the numbers, and see if that is correct; If it was REALLY horrible, I will post it later...Basically, nothing went right all month-mediocre play and running like shit to boot...

The Good

I am 51 years old and have rarely been sick a day in my life ( I have NEVER ever missed a day of work)...About a month ago, I started feeling like shit (for days on end), so after 10 or more years of never seeing a doctor, I decided it was time. I had some ideas as to the problem, but hell, you never know... I came clean and told him all the gory details...
I was rather amused at the Dr's response when I told him the amount of alcohol I consumed---he said "per day?" I said "yup, and that's why I'm here, so lets get some blood tests and see how bad I have fukked up my liver! "

Bottom line is---the liver function was only 'mildly elevated" which means all is well, and all you BTP'ers are stuck with me another 30 years or so. I'm gonna cut out the whiskey, and keep it to an occasional couple of beers, or some wine. My cholesterol is in great shape and all the other tests came back normal. The blood pressure is a bit high, but that can be caused by excessive drinking as well, so it bears watching. All in all I am a happy camper, and other than a couple glasses of wine last night (my little celebration) I haven't had a sip in 3 weeks, and I feel great. All I need now is to lose that 25 pounds...

I feel great, I feel focused, and March will be my biatch...

GL all...

kenny- ALOT!!!

Overall lately, I have not been playing too well...I have made some horrendous calls...It is costing me a chunk of money! I really don't know why...

Anyway, as is usual for me, when I need a confidence boost, where do I go? You bet your ass---back to the SNG's...I whiffed on the first one, but I played as well as I know how in this one, having NO cards at all...I think I was 7 or 8 % of "other hands played.."

20 bucks---180 people

PokerStars Tournament #20819143, No Limit Hold'em
Buy-In: $20.00/$2.00
180 players
Total Prize Pool: $3600.00
Tournament started - 2006/03/05 - 18:56:33 (ET)

Dear bobby,

You finished the tournament in 7th place.
A $126.00 award has been credited to your Real Money account.

It had been awhile, so that one felt great...I have NOT followed up with any of my NY resolutions, but i still feel the need to do so..I really need to work on my game! I do "OK", but I know I could be so much better...

I hope to hell anyone reading my boring ass journal has the sense to read MVP's critique of my mentoring with regard to triple draw lo ball (in the "Anything Goes" section)---funny shit...
