Again, I don't think thats a raising hand preflop, but each to their own. On the flop with 5 players, once two check and one makes a weak lead I don't think that raising is too bad, but it's very easy for you to be drawing very thin here. A smaller raise will let you know if there's a straight out and may get you heads up with the weak leader, who's possibly on a draw. Don't forget though that the main draw on this board is holding a set and thus drawing to a boat. You could easily be drawing dead, even against the weak leader. I think the decision comes down to your view of this player. Personally, if I figure he's an utter goon and liable to be playing with next to nothing, I might consider a half pot raise to find out where I'm at, then lay down if scare cards come or if a lot of players call along. Most usually, however, I think I would fold that flop to a decent sized raise and (perhaps in this case) call a weedy one and see if I can grab a cheap turn. I am not wild about putting in large chunks of my stack with a hand that could very well be drawing dead. You should also note that there's hardly a safe turn in the deck; except for the case 7, any card 5 through king could kill you.

By the time the turn comes round it's still not too late to back out, I would go with your conviction and press on if you really think you have the best hand. I wouldn't be surprised to be called and shown one of the two higer sets, however. Note also that good players often "slowplay" straights in PLO because they can be so vulnerable. I lost a stack yesterday to exactly such a play.

ok the reason I raise this guy the whole pot is that he was constantly betting a very thin amount whenever some1 had raised preflop.
and about 90% of the time he folded to a flop raise on his little bet.
I did that on him about 9 to 12 times this evening.

Don't forget there's another 3 players as well as you and him... any of them could have a higher set or even the straight. It's also very hard to play the turn if you get called. In all honesty playing your 77 here for a raise is little more than a bluff; if anybody calls you here you're in jeopardy and you won't know really where you are by the turn. Glad it worked out but I wouldn't be so aggressive with bottom set, usually. I know that's a massive hand in holdem but in PLO you'll often find somebody just smooth calling with a higher set, on that board. Keep considering how your hands will play further down the line if someone calls your bet; here, your chances of winning the pot if anyone calls seem to be fairly slim, but good news he folded!
