Is this an easy pot bet to charge the lows and/or flush draws? Or should I be afraid of the straight card and not want to get check-raised off my full-house draw? What about betting the pot and then folding to a check-raise? The problem is that I'm reluctant to increase the size of the pot any larger as there are a LOT of scare cards on the river and I'll have a tough time calling a river bet. What's my line here?

I check, not because I am afriad of being CRed, but because I am afraid of the river. There are literally only 4 cards you want to see on the river so, I really don’t want to grow this pot anymore. My worry is that you pot (or ½ pot) and get called in one place. Then the river comes and someone bets into you. Now what do you do?

Well, I agonized over a turn bet for a while and eventually decided to check. I considered betting 1/2 of the pot, but I decided a bet that size doesn't protect my hand (JD's post titled, "When you can't price them off their draw, what do you do?" actually flashed through my mind) and it exposes me to a check-raise. I suppose I shouldn't fear a check-raise, as my draw isn't very strong and if I do get check-rasied it's an easy laydown. My main reason to check behind was because I had no plan for the river, and if anyone bet at the pot I would have to give up having thrown my money away on the turn. As much as I hate giving a free card, I felt it was my best option.

Uncalled bets: $27.95 returned to UTG.

I was surprised SB bet-folded the river. It was an easy laydown for me. I'm curious if he was bluffing or he had a smaller straight that he decided to fold.

That is one of the few flops where I would usually feel pretty decent about betting my 2 pair on. It's a risky play for sure and I'd feel a helluva lot better if I was heads up. Definitely an easy fold after all that river action.
