You need 8x to make it break-even. However, it's a GREAT decision if you want to take a long-term hit for a short-term gain...no better way to get someone's stack than if you're VERY sure they have AA and you can stack them if you hit your set.

Daniel, can't help but feel bad for the guy. Outdraw after outdraw, and the big cooler hand (straight vs. KJ straight). He's obviously rattled from being down so much that he called the 40k on that river "just in case" he was bluffing.

As for the arguing, Freddy overeacted for sure by getting mad there. At our home games there's been a lot worse said (eg. After a major suckout by our game's worst player, the other player asks "So, when is your book coming out? What chapter is that play gonna be in?" Yet, everyone had a good laugh about it.

I don't think Freddy Deeb overreacted too much, he doesn't want the want the reputation of bending the rules and by creating such a stir he emphasized his innocence.

Don't you think BECAUSE he overreacted in such a way, that it would lead people to think that he actually did go south?

Anyway, the bottom line is, they WERE joking and let it be known in an obvious way that they were joking. If I'm playing at the casino, and I managed to suckout on someone, then my brother or friend looking goes to me and says "Nice play donkey" do you think I'm gonna start to spazz and get all upset?

But the issue was whether Freddy was cheating by taking money off the table, not over whether a good/bad play. In a world where Phil Helmuth makes more from his merchandise and self marketing than most of the players in the big game, being seen as a honest poker player is essential (cough, Zeejustin).

A joke is OK as long as the person the joke is about doesn't mind. When it's not a joke anymore you have to cut it.

They weren't joking...otherwise they would've laughed and not brought it up seriously as Daniel did...they really wanted to know...but, just like them, we'll drop it too :P

episode 10 is up

now its posted here:

http://thepiratebay.org/details.php?id=3460346

this is one i am looking forward to, it's with phil helmuth

a lot of people dont like him, but besides his ego I think his play is very good, some pro's said he's good at tournaments but will get raped on cashgame tables.

and maybe that will be the case since he plays so predictable (premium hands only)

I think he will make the most money calling off bluffs
