Be glad your opponents refuse to fold; if they didn't, you just might go broke.

Well Tibs, I took your advice and did the stars reload bonus and cleaned up nicely at the 5/10 there for + 500 with the bonus, about 8 bb/100.
So I figured this guy knows what he's talking about and deposited at full tilt also, have to say so far the games seem a little tighter then compared to stars. Also not nearly as many tables available. I've cleared about $5 so far, when I get to my first $20 I think I'm gonna withdraw, not digging it as much. Thanks for the stars advice though.

Tonight's Info:

177 hands, 1hr, 11min: +$173.50

I only lost >1 BB on 6 hands total in the session.

I lost with 66 to KK--basically I 3-bet a maniac who only had $8 in front of him pre-flop...Otherwise, just a couple whiffs and a hand that I really thought I could push a guy off...

Full Tilt Poker
Limit Holdem Ring game
Limit: $3/$6
7 players

Stack sizes:
UTG: $148
UTG+1: $119.50
MP1: $216.50
CO: $103
Button: $90.50
SB: $38
Hero: $68

Pre-flop: (7 players) Hero is BB with [Kc] [Jc]
3 folds, CO calls, Button folds, SB calls, Hero raises, CO calls, SB folds.

Flop: [Ts] [9h] [7s] (5SB, 2 players)
Hero bets, CO calls.

Turn: [Ad] (3.5BB, 2 players)
Hero bets, CO calls.

River: [Ah] (5.5BB, 2 players)
Hero bets, CO calls.

Results:
Final pot: 7.5BB
CO showed Qh Th
Hero showed Kc Jc

I figured that if I represented AK, AQ, AJ, or AT I could make him lay it down, but I tried to bluff a calling station. The three-street bluff only works with players who can lay down a hand, folks.

Also, a nice play. Here's a good example of waiting to raise until the turn when you flop a fairly big hand:

1) It's a small pot.
2) It's heads up to the flop.
3) I know that unless he has AA, I'm well ahead on the flop and he's drawing to no more than 3 outs.

Full Tilt Poker
Limit Holdem Ring game
Limit: $3/$6
9 players

Stack sizes:
UTG: $176
UTG+1: $305.50
Hero: $149.50
MP2: $186.50
MP3: $34
CO: $60
Button: $73.50
SB: $168.50
BB: $219.50

Pre-flop: (9 players) Hero is MP1 with [9d] [Ac]
UTG calls, UTG+1 folds, Hero calls, 5 folds, 5 folds, BB checks.

Flop: [Ad] [9h] [3c] (3.5SB, 3 players)
BB checks, UTG bets, Hero calls, BB folds.

Turn: [6s] (2.75BB, 2 players)
UTG bets, Hero raises, UTG folds.
Uncalled bets: 1BB returned to Hero.

Results:
Final pot: 4.75BB

Overall, a nice session, and a win at Full Tilt.

Baby Update:

The Mrs. went last night for an ultrasound to measure the baby and estimate the baby's size. She's a little bigger than expected. Her bone measurements put her about a week ahead of her estimated gestational age, but her weight estimate is 6.2 pounds!

That wouldn't be as big a deal if my wife wasn't due April 25th. She's got about 5-6 weeks to go, and as expected, the doctor ended her working, and put her on moderate bed rest, mainly due to all the swelling she's had, plus all the fatigue.

My wife is a real tough woman, and when she says she's tired and not feeling up to stuff, believe me, she's getting beat up by our little bundle of joy. Her blood pressure was a little elevated as well (135/85), so all in all, rest is definitely the best thing for her at this point.

The basement is getting painted/carpeted next week, and that will allow us to finish up the baby's room the week after. It'll be a busy time for us all, and I know I'm looking forward to meeting my daughter and having a (newly expanded) happy, and most especially, healthy family.

Rough morning session: Dropped a full buy-in, $100, and the way I lost was just pathetic:

QQ vs. 77--Turn card a 7, -$39 (88.4-11.6 favorite on flop)
KT vs. K8--full house on board, just happened to be 4-8-8-4-4, -$33.(73-26 favorite pre-flop)
44 vs. 85o--Flopped the set, he caught runner runner 6-7 for his straight. Same ass hat as the hand immediately above--he called a raise from MP with K8o, and called a check raise on the turn with 3rd pair and a gutshot from OOP. Nitwit. -$30 (93-7 favorite on flop, 91-9 favorite on turn)
AJ vs. KJ--Lost, flopped an ace, he turned the straight. -$27 (83-17 favorite on flop)
QJ vs. TT--Flopped the nut straight, he flopped the set, rivered quads. -$24. (65-35 favorite on flop, 76-24 favorite on turn)
QJ vs. AK--my last hand of the session. Flopped a queen, he rivered the ace. -$16 (65-35 favorite on turn) To be fair, he also had the nut flush draw, and was a slight favorite on the flop.
22 vs. K6 vs. 97--I dumped this hand post-flop, but every other loss was 1 BB or less.

These were all my losing hands. Literally. At one point, right before the QQ v. 77 hand, I was up +$86.00.

Rough time. Very rough time.

I also posted a follow up on the blog to the aggression post. Read and enjoy!

Should've ended it right there...After dinner, another 352 hands, -$156.50. Just rough some times...

The action here should've told me something, but I couldn't get away from AA:

PokerStars 3/6 Hold'em (9 handed)

Preflop: Hero is UTG with [As], [Ah].
Hero raises, UTG+1 calls, 6 folds, BB calls.

Flop: (6.33 SB) [6d], [7d], [4c] (3 players)
BB checks, Hero bets, UTG+1 calls, BB raises, Hero 3-bets, UTG+1 calls, BB caps, Hero calls, UTG+1 folds.

Turn: (8.66 BB) [Qs] (2 players)
BB bets, Hero raises, BB calls.

River: (12.66 BB) [Jc] (2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets, BB calls.

Final Pot: 14.66 BB

Results in white below:
BB has 7h 6c (two pair, sevens and sixes).
Hero has As Ah (one pair, aces).
Outcome: BB wins 14.66 BB.

You may be wondering why I went for 3 bets with 55--SB was (get thia) 74/34/1.25--and I'll be damned if I'm gonna get pushed around by that:
Full Tilt Poker
Limit Holdem Ring game
Limit: $3/$6
7 players

Pre-flop: (7 players) Hero is Button with [5c] [5h]
UTG folds, UTG+1 raises, 2 folds, Hero calls, SB 3-bets, BB folds, UTG+1 calls, Hero calls.

Flop: [8c] [Jd] [5s] (10SB, 3 players)
UTG+1 bets, Hero raises, SB folds, UTG+1 calls.

Turn: [7h] (7BB, 2 players)
UTG+1 checks, Hero bets, UTG+1 calls.

River: [9s] (9BB, 2 players)
UTG+1 checks, Hero bets, UTG+1 raises, Hero calls.

Results:
Final pot: 13BB
UTG+1 showed Tc Th
Hero mucks 5c 5h

I don't know what his turnr raise meant, but it slowed me down enough that he caught a miracle on the river:

PokerStars 3/6 Hold'em (9 handed)

Preflop: Hero is SB with [Ks], [Ad].
UTG calls, 2 folds, MP2 calls, 3 folds, Hero raises, BB calls, UTG calls, MP2 calls.

Flop: (8 SB) [2h], [5h], [Jc] (4 players)
Hero bets, BB folds, UTG folds, MP2 calls.

Turn: (5 BB) [Kc] (2 players)
Hero bets, MP2 raises, Hero calls.

River: (9 BB) [7d] (2 players)
Hero checks, MP2 bets, Hero calls.

Final Pot: 11 BB

Results in white below:
Hero has Ks Ad (one pair, kings).
MP2 has 7c 5c (two pair, sevens and fives).
Outcome: MP2 wins 11 BB.

This little beauty as well--this was entirely my own damn fault--but I really don't think it would've mattered.

PokerStars 3/6 Hold'em (9 handed)

Preflop: Hero is BB with [7h], [6h].
7 folds, SB raises, Hero calls.

Flop: (4 SB) [Ad], [6s], [7d] (2 players)
SB bets, Hero calls.

Turn: (3 BB) [5c] (2 players)
SB bets, Hero raises, SB calls.

River: (6 BB) [2c] (2 players)

Final Pot: 6 BB

Results in white below:
SB has 2h As (two pair, aces and twos).
Hero has 7h 6h (two pair, sevens and sixes).
Outcome: SB wins 6 BB.

Top that off with a slight profit at $50 PLO, that should've been FAR more. Three times I had nut hands on the turn, bet pot, and had them cracked on the river by a prayer.I was up a full buy-in on 3 seperate occasions, but settled for a $20 or so profit.

Ugh.
