Hand Reading - Great video, lots of great concepts. Hand examples and explanations will greatly improve anyone's skills here.
Switching gears - Discusses how to handle LP's and weak tighties. Information here is basic and is nothing you haven't read already.
Advanced Preflop - Basically a further explanation on his preflop standards from SSHE. Hand examples are good, but its all right out of SSHE. The dvd does have a small sectiopn on SH play that is pretty good, he doesn't go into too much depth, just a simple explanation on situations in SH play that you should fold in EP and 3-bet from the blinds.
Protecting Your Hand - Agian, str8 out of SSHE with great examples and explanations. He preaches alot of C/R w/ middle pairs and such. If you've read SSHE you know what he's going to say, but his explanations and examples are much better in these videos than in his book.
I think the videos are great. He preaches the same style and concepts from SSHE, but the presentation and examples make the information easier to absorb. The hand reading video is the best, He presents some great concepts on this sublect. All the videos are pretty basic though, but for someone with less then a year of experience these videos can shorten the learning curve quite a bit. As for Ed himself, his voice is very annoying, and his hair looks like a mop. He has a laptop in front of him that he reads off of too much. He also has lots of strange pauses through out the presentation. In two of the videos it sounds like he's talking in a garage. Big echo. I think that the simplicity of the presentation can be a good thing, it doesn't distract from the information at all, which is probably good.
