First hand of my session. 1/2 NL 10 handed. No reads on target player. Never seem him. His name implies that he is weak (something like BLING BLING etc)

Kh5h on the button. I saw one limper. I clicked the fold button. Then, for no apparent reason, I unclicked the fold button, thinking this hand might have some value on the button with a few limpers. Sure enough, there were 3 limpers total and i limped. I was seemingly rewarded when the flop was

Q62 all hearts. I flopped the second nut flush. The pot is 12$. The SB goes all-in for 35$, into a 12$ pot. Fold, fold, and the *LP player thinks and cold calls. I am thinking he has a lower flush, or is trapping with an ace high flush, however unlikely. Maybe he is just playing a set softly. I am not worried about the SB, who is already all-in. The action is to me, I re-raise the *LP player to 100$, and he pushes immediately for 160$ total. I call. Turn doesn't pair the board but the river is a 4th heart. SB shows bollocks and the *LP player had Ah9c.

Ok. NP. Taken beats before. Move on. Not really fluttered. Until this hand at a different table, 20 mins later...

88 in the BB. 5 or 6 limpers and I check. Flop 983, two clubs. I check. 15$ pot so far, EP players bets 5$, 2 callers, and I raise to 35$. EP player pushes all in, everyone else folds. I say "222 I hope?" and call. turn is a club and the river is innocuous. We showdown and he has KcJc for a sucked out flush.

Sorry if this is low content but I need some consolement. I've been a winning player at this limit for some time but recently things have gone a little bit sour. Perhaps in the past 2 or 3 weeks I've broke even or lost 1 or 2 bb/100...So if anyone wants to contribute some wise poker maxims that might cheer me up it'd be much appreciated.

*edit*

yeah I guess this is just a bad beat story.. not much strategy perspective here right? I went all in with the best hand and lost. Or is there any way I could have perhaps more nimbly tip-toed around these hands and not gotten stacked?

That sucks, but you may want to edit the post because somehow there are two "buttons" in the first hand.

That's running really bad for an 11% VPIP player. :?

Shake it off, mang. This is "good for business" in the long run. If the fishies and donkeys never ever won, who would we win all our money from?

Keep your head up.

Shit happens man...usually 2 weeks is a really bad run...and they can go longer. A week is a standard bad run (I just finished mine as of monday). Fortunately, my bad run had me still winning...just not as much as expected. Just stick to your standard game and DO NOT extend yourself trying to make it up...just grind it out and the streak will end itself...if you push to make money or make it back, then you'll just extend the bad run.

You played those hands fine...btw.

edit: my bad run included 3 set-over-sets and one where I had a set-over another set where he drew quads on the turn (all in on flop).

My bad run ended with 4 quads in one nite ;)
