1/2NL Prima Poker $200 max buy-in

I have $280
UTG opponent has around $80 (complete moron)
UTG+1 opponent around $30 (moron)
3rd opponent has $200 (decent)

I'm dealt [2d][4d] on the button. Lots of limpers. I call. The BB raises the min to $4. Everyone calls.

FLOP $28
[2c][3d][4c]

I flop two pair with a backdoor flush draw. BB (preflop raiser) leads out for $6. UTG (a complete and utter moron betting/calling station) raises to $16. Another moron UTG+2 behind him moves all-in for $29. LP opponent (decent nothing special) calls.
I know UTG has nothing because he's plays ilke this everyday of the week. UTG+2 is also horrible and I figure he moved in with a draw. I am worried about 33 by the 3rd opponent(and he has $170 left)....but I say hell with it this pot is huge and move all-in for $300. UTG calls instantly and is all-in for his last $60...LP player folds.

TURN $242.70
[2c][3d][4c][Qs]

RIVER $242.70
[2c][3d][4c][Qs][8d]

UTG shows [Ah][3c] for one pair and gutshot draw.
UTG+1 shows [Kd][5d] openended straight draw and backdoor flush draw.

So my two pair held. ....it's good to have reads on ocassion :). This play was made a lot easier with their short stacks. The UTG player is on my list of crazy people I need to play with whenever I see him.

I just moved up slowly to 1/2 last week. It took a bit of adjustment..I play more aggressive now and more hands.

lately i've been doing either 3 tables or 2 tables with one 3/6 limit table.

That's solid Kenny. I knew you would lose your weak-tight tendencies and go back to playing like you normally do.

And in unrelated news, I played a little bit on Pokerstars last night. Did a $20 tourney. And played headsup for half an hour. And playing a $10 tourney tonight. Playing low-stakes is so relaxing.

I never thought somebody would tell me playing a 42 suited is "solid" :)

As for being weak tight...it did wonders for me at the .50/1.00 level. But 1/2 requires a little bit more thought and a lot more aggressivness. i'm not sure i wll be able to do 4 tables at this limit.

Glad you're getting back into the game MG. start slowly just for fun....then next thing you know you are addicted and not getting laid again!

You know I love those little cards. Can't say button-limping with 42s after bunch of callers is a bad move. Especially if you are gonna get paid off like that when you hit.

Hey Kenny

Could you briefly expand on why you preferred a more weak-tight game at $100NL, but have become more aggressive at the higher limit. Does a weak-tight game have particular benefits as limits decrease?

I routinely play PLO the way kenny describes for lower level NL; very ABC and don't always make a lot of moves in the $100 games, playing 5 or so at once. If I play higher, $200 or $400, I usually play a similar number of games but concentrate mostly on the bigger money ones, developing reads and throwing in a few more deceptive plays. If I play the $400 game at UB I generally watch it like a hawk because the players are usually pretty good with the occasional loose fish in there; they're the ones I want to target whilst stealing small pots from the better players but not getting too committed.

I always play very tight, ABC at NL these days, whenever I play online lol.... Not the most exciting but it seems to win at $50-200 buyins for me so there you go. My NL game is based very heavily around selecting the juiciest games and waiting for the big hand....
