fwiw, ivey's strategy last year in the $5k event was to see a lot of flops cheaply (apparently he almost never raised pf) and outplay opponents postflop. he probably got a lot of cred because he's phil ivey, but the underlying principle may not be that bad. i'm guessing he did A LOT of stealing. i think outplaying people with weak holdings after the flop might be how you can get deep (with respect to your skill level). the real issue will be how well the pros will be able to read you and play you. however, not knowing that much about your live game, i won't even begin to speculate on this issue.
