Has anyone tried the new shoot out tourneys at Party Poker? I tried it today and I think that it is a pretty cool set up. The one I played in was a 5+1 and you have to place in the top three to advance to the next round, with a total of four rounds, and you get paid for each round you pass.

The only problem with the set up is that the blinds increace too fast. By the end of the first round the average stack only had 10 BB. The reason I like it is that in four SNG's you play you have the potential to turn the $5 into $300+ depending on how many people enter.

I was just wondering if anyone has played in tourney similar to this and what you think about it.

Hey stealth, I read about those games and yea, they sound like a lot of fun. Problem is I think they are going to be even more of a crap-shoot than the regular SNG's are. IMO you would really have to get lucky to win on a regular basis at those -- can't see any potential for long term profit. Same deal with the step tourneys.
