A few live 2/4 limit o8 hands

Postby briachek » Sun Mar 26, 2006 5:28 pm

i went to AC yesterday and playing some 2/4 limit O8 with a half kill because i didnt feel like playing 1/2 nlhe and its a fun game to be in.

Here are some hands i want some opinions on. The game is pretty passive and raises aren't made without a big hand or draw normally. if there is a bet, there maybe one raise but normally its 1 bet and many calls. The river is different and can get more aggressive now that everyone knows what they have. They chase a lot, bet a decent amount of marginal hands. Pretty much what you would expect. I have confidence in my reading skills over all these people.

Hand 1

4 limpers, i call in late mp with A348ss.

Flop comes A73 with a flush draw i don't have. 6 handed. there is a bet and 2 callers to me. Your action?

Hand 2

I have A457 suited in spades and limp in mp after a few limpers. 6 see the flop

Flop is Kx9s4s, . there is a bet and 2 calls to me, i call, 5 see the turn.

Turn is 8 spades, making my nut flush. Checks to me, i bet and 3 call, all out of position to me.

River is 6 spades. Checks to the guy to my right that bets. Now i know my low isn't good and if i raise, i might force out the other two people. I think this guy could easily be just betting a low with some mediocre high but mainly just a low so i might raise and get other lows trapped in for more bets. However, i think the other two might fold to a raise if they have to call 2 cold. Do you call or raise?

Hand 3

Straight forward player raises in ep. only 1 caller to me in the bb and I call with A57J, with nut diamond draw. The other caller is complete calling station but will bet if check to with any marginal holding too.

Flop comes 993, 2 diamons. Now I put the raiser on some sort of AAxx hand so I know he likely hates the 9's. I bet out with my draw, he reluctantly folds, other guy thinks for a second and calls.

Turn is offsuit 2.

Now i got a decent low draw too and I bet, he calls.

River is gin, 4d

I bet, he calls, i flip up the wheel and nut flush and he looks disgusted and folds. You might think he may have a 9 but i think 90% of the time, he doesn't even have that and i beat out his running low or something.

Hand 4

There isn't much question on this one but what happened after was nice.

I have As3s7s8c, 3 spades, in late mp and limp in. about 6-7 see the flop.

Flop is 2s5s9c. One hell of a nice flop for me. I got draws and draws. There is a bet and 4 callers to me, i raise, i lose one guy behind me, everyone else calls.

Turn is a Q offsuit, checks to me, i bet, everyone calls.

River is Ts, I have absolute nuts. Checks to me, 4 calls and i flip and scoop.

For some reason, just the way i handled myself in this hand, one old guy asked me in all seriousness "are you a pro?" I just smiled and told him I was part time and I'm just trying to learn a new game. He was a nice guy and he was also the type to not raise on the river with the absolute nut high with no low if he liked you so i figured it couldn't hurt to have him liking me too.

Nothing too special about it but it was a nice stroke to my ego there.

hand 1- fold flop

hand 2 - depends on texture of table, but i would call with no info. i would only raise if i was fairly certain they would cold call the two -- otherwise you're costing yourself money. plus, you can always hope that some clown with a low will also raise behind you.

hand 3 - nh... but i fold pf due to a lack of people in the pot. you're playing for the flush mainly, and this draw needs limpers to feed it.

hand 4 - nihan, and i like the way you played it.

Hand 1 - i did fold. One guy had 77, one had 33 and one had A7 and the turn was T, river was Ace. He hit his one outer to win. My friend was standing behind me and saw me fold on the flop for one bet and was surprised. I said "just watch, if i'm ahead almost every card will suck." he saw the river and said "you would have won," but before the river action, which went bet, call, raise, reraise, call, cap, call, call, i told he "i bet you i'm not" :D

Hand 2 - I just called trying to keep the other is and the guy that bet into me had 57s for rivered straight flush and he was hoping i raised. Nice try buddy. If he check raised, i he would have at least got 2 bets from me, if not, 4.

Hand 3 - true i probably should have folded but being in the bb, I was getting 5:1 on my money and had a SOLID read on the raiser. The other guy you could almost discount. I wasn't playing many hands and he was good enough to at least notice that so i thought i could use that as he could actually fold a hand.
