What should I have done differently? Raise the flop? Play just like this hoping to fill?

Hand 2. With so many people in, i thought I might try a check raise if I felt a bet was weak or fold to extreme action. Instead, I killed myself.

Party Poker Pot-Limit Omaha High, $0.5 BB (10 handed)

MP3 ($25)
CO ($12)
Button ($5.35)
SB ($41.85)
Hero ($45.65)
UTG ($11.75)
UTG+1 ($44.6)
UTG+2 ($23.2)
MP1 ($42.9)
MP2 ($97.65)

Preflop: Hero is BB with [Qc], [2s], [4s], [Kh]. MP3 posts a blind of $0.5. CO posts a blind of $0.5.
1 fold, UTG+1 calls $0.50, UTG+2 calls $0.50, MP1 calls $0.50, 1 fold, MP3 (poster) checks, CO (poster) checks, Button calls $0.50, SB completes, Hero checks.

Flop: ($4) [Ks], [Ts], [Kd] (8 players)
SB checks, Hero checks, UTG+1 folds, UTG+2 checks, MP1 checks, MP3 checks, CO checks, Button checks.

Turn: ($4) [5c] (7 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $3.8, UTG+2 raises to $7.6, MP1 folds, MP3 folds, CO folds, Button folds, SB folds, Hero calls $3.80.

River: ($19.20) [3c] (2 players)
Hero checks, UTG+2 bets $9, Hero calls $9.

Final Pot: $37.20

Results in white below:
Hero has Qc 2s 4s Kh (three of a kind, kings).
UTG+2 has 5h 5s Td Ah (full house, fives full of kings).
Outcome: UTG+2 wins $37.20.

very tough situation.
I think on hand 1 a mini raise is quite appropriate to gain some information,
if the agressor had JJ you would be re raise immediatly as he has no position on you.

hand 2 is exactly the type of hand I hate being on the BB, clearly this is a leak in my game to bee too confident with a garbage hand and trips out of position
I think a fold is in order on the turn as some1 with KT, which he hasn't but..., is likely to give a free card. moreover your kicker is not that bad but you could be against some1 with AK or even TT who didn't wanted to play that underfull
too many ways to be broken imho.
I cried because I had no draw, until I met a man with no pair>>>MVSPORTS

Hand 1 you should raise; if you are behind to J8 or 8A you are drawing to 5 outs, so you'd rather be done with the hand on the flop. Given that you have position, you will know if you're behind because the bettor will raise you back, or lead the turn. Raising the flop is probably the best way to get to a cheap showdown, to gather info about your hand and to pressure weaker 8s or players messing with a hand lik KK or AA. You should not be too bothered about passing your hand here because with a bet and a call there is a very good chance you are beaten.

Hand 2 I don't like your flop check one bit. I think again you have to bet it here, most players will raise AK and thats your big danger here. By letting the whole table check this down, anyone with a pair in hand has an additional 2 outs to kill you, on top of anybody playing a weak king. You should bet pot on the flop IMO and then slow down if you get called and don't boat up on the turn (although if the caller is the type to chase a flush/straight on a paired board you may wish to bet the turn too and then fold if raised).

ok, so in both situation you either bet/raise the flop and if called, you check/fold the turn or river if I don't boat up?

I might not check/fold turn against a total muppet. Depends who you're up against... A loose fool who will chase a draw (straight, flush) on a paired board, then hell I pop him again. Hand 2 your holding looks a lot more tenuous than it does in hand one, although in hand one there is perhaps a bit more chance of someone slow playing.

All I'm saying is... and you can quote me.... don't go bust on these hands!

well, I didn't go bust on either so you should be proud. I just lost most my stack instead.
