Play this differently?

So I'm playing a bit more LO8, as to spread out my bad run over various forms of poker, rather than limiting it to PLO.

I have [Kh][3h][2c] and open-limp in EP. 5 way pot.

Flop: [5s][9c]. BB leads, I flat call, everyone else calls.
Turn: . BB leads again, I raise, LP cold calls, BB calls.
River: . BB checks, I bet, LP calls, BB calls.

Outcome: LP wins high with [As][9h][3c], I win low. (BB had naked A3.)

Reasoning: preflop: I could raise, but rather play a multiway pot against a lot of weaker hands. Flop: looking good for low, but not much chance for high, so rather keep the price good. Turn: Lock for low, and chances for high now: get as much money in as possible from people with weaker lows. River: I actually thought I'd be good for high too, but I wasn't sure whether LP would bet when checked to (so that we could trap BB for two bets) so I just bet out.

Any thoughts? Would a flop raise have been better as to get LP out?

Looks good to me, i don't think i like raising the flop with just a bare low draw, you WANT people in the pot at this point.. Turn and river look good too.

I'm not sure how I'd play that in limit o8 (and don't ever want to find out), but I limp from EP with that as well, for the same reasons you gave. In LP I raise it every time. After seeing some of Mute's thoughts on that kinda stuff I'd probably reraise that 75% of the time if someone in MP/LP raised after I limped. I think I'm getting a bit of a nutpeddler rep on the PLO8 tables lately (based on the number of times I've not gotten called on flop/turn bets) so I will have to shake it up a bit. IIRC, you have a relatively low pfr% in O8 so you might want to try that as well.

Otherwise you played this perfectly. If you want to raise this flop once every 4 or 5 times then that's not a horrible idea, just to keep them guessing, but I usually will flat call it and then certainly raise the turn when I have 2nd nut flush draw, wrap str8 draw, and uncounterfeitable nut low.

7 times out of 8 you scoop or 3/4 here, so don't sweat it.

Limit O8 plays vastly differently to PLO8 IMO JD.

Preflop I'd have re-raised if given the chance too (I presume you were planning that, Ojingo?). Otherwise I can't see what you can do differently. A flop raise would absolutely stink to high heaven, is that not fairly obvious?

Turn plays simply enough, get busy.

River is clear cut too.

I can see what LP was doing (trapping BB for an overcall) but I think it would be marginally better in his situation here to raise the river.

fwiw, i thnk raising in LO8 and plo8 are different. in plo8, you don't want to build a big pot OOP, but in LO8, that's much less of a consideration. you're raising for value. at leaast that was my thinking.

I'll reiterate whatever the hell it was that I said about raising this flop every so often. Not all the time, but you can't flat call this all the time since it practically screams Low draw!

It's a bit image-dependent, but I can see many a relatively tight playa with a weak high folding to a raise on this flop. You also might get a bad str8 draw to tag along and can push them off when it misses.

If nothing else, when it comes to showdown you'll have guys going "WTF?" when they see that you raised with nothing but a low draw.

Again, for me this would normally be a call and be a 1 in 4, 1 in 5 times raise, but I kinda like it when guys go "WTF?" at my table.
