I agree with both of the above statements.
EXCEPT: If there IS a K out there, even if you bet the flop, you're not getting him out of there. The problem in a 3/6 game with 6 limpers is that I guarantee there's a king out there. It is an +EV move to bet the flop, no doubt, but the fact that there are 6 monkeys out there playing any paint makes you stop and think.
You can't play afraid, though. Bet the flop, bet the turn, fold to a raise and realize that you weren't going to win the hand either way.
