i'm not really excited about his writing style, and i disagree with some of his ideas.
his betting ideas seem more fit for stars than party, but that may be splitting hairs.

It's good to know about four or five biggish words you can stuff into a conversation so you sound well read. Don't fuck them up the way black people do, but don't overuse them either. We recommend putting your fancy word next to a swear. Here are some examples: "…so she walks in all precocious like we give a shit," or "…and it's the same old pedantic bullshit he's always going on about," or "She's got this big fucking turgid zit right in the centre of her face."

Russ is a nut, which means that there is little correlation between what he says and what really is.
I think he has some semi-valid points, but he gets there more by stumbling than design, and muddles things up so it comes across wrong.
My two cents:
there is less bluffing in PLO8 than in some other forms of poker
small sweetener bets, even on the flop, have their place, depending on your objective.
He's completely goofy wrong about flushes
Pairs are less valuable than most think when first coming to the game.
He's go the right idea about betting when only 4-card hands can beat u, but still doesn't nail it.

I haven't read the article but I'd trust everyone else's opinion on it I think.
Small sweetener bets are an important part of your arsenal, though they work best in weaker games where people are spending less time thinking about your possible hand. In general though, you should be betting and raising the size of the pot MOST of the time.
