Weak tight playas (i.e. PokerStars)

some might classify me as weak-tight, but I study HH's while I'm playing, so I have "special methods" of dealing with button raisers and thieves. It usually involves check-calling with next nothing.

I get pissed off at people who let others get away with thievery. That's one of my pet peeves way up there with donk-betting flops OOP with weak hands. Don't even get me started on that one.

When I cleared off the bonuses at PS during the double FPPs period, I noticed that people used the check call and then lead out on the turn regardless of card play. I think it is decent way to handle the standard continuation bet from a PFR. If I raise and cont bet with nothing and get called, I will slow down. If the called leads out on the turn and I still have nothing, then it is a autofold unless I think a reraise will steal it back.

Ok, I guess check/call then lead out makes more sense. I'll do that against overaggro guys like Phil at times, but usually with something that can catch decent once in a while.

What I'm seeing are the weaktight guys that will have a made nut str8 on the turn and check or min bet it when they should be potting it to charge draws (let's say there are 2 to a flush on the board as well). Obviously, the best way to play these guys is to completely nutpeddle but who the f wants to do that?

Here's a good example from yesterday. Board is 4x6x78T hearts. Guy leads out for half pot. Other guy raises pot. First guy thinks and then says, "I guess I gotta call here." Shows A-high flush. Raiser had A2 with a lower flush and they split. Guy with the A-high flush says "thought for sure you had str8 flush" and I don't think he was kidding or being fancy. He really was thinking of folding there (I saw him fold a couple of others that were really, really weak).

Is it at all worth it to play with these guys? I'd like to expand my game and skillz (holla), but jiminy freakin crickets, these guys are like the Michelob Ultra of PLO8 players.

Is it worthwhile to LAG the crap out of them? That is not my normal game at all, but maybe it's a skill that I should develop?

a good LAG style is the way to do it. the issues are to know how to manage pot size, know how to play position, and know when to fold (BBP's weakness). i think most of the rest will take care of itself.

I like how everyone has got the flaws in my game figured out...

The way to beat a weak tight table is to play a normal tag style, but try more steals and semi bluffs than normal. It's not rocket science, just pick a few more spots than you would otherwise. LAG carves up certain mixed tables and fish very effectively, but it'll get you in trouble on a weak tight table.
