Dealt [4d] in the BB. Couple of limpers. I check.

I lead for $40. I use to try and check raise or whatever but no one ever bets on the weekend so there you go. Very good player postflop player who can be quite aggressive (with a small leak of limping a bit too often) calls. He was in EP.

TURN$120

I bet $80. He raises to $225. I was actually expecting this and I just felt like he was full of it. I debating moving in over the top but opted just to call and see how he played the river. I did delay a while before calling. Probably 20 seconds.

RIVER$570

hmmm. I have two pair. I lead for $300. He raises allin in 4 seconds and it's another $512 to me.

I thought a good while and folded. Is there any other possibilty here then a set or maybe J9? I guess I'm beating AJ.. but I just don't see him raising the river....?

What do you guys think. It pained me to fold it at the time, but I just couldn't imagine him pulling a bluff in this spot.

Bluffing the BB would be pretty dangerous for him. 4 secs doesn't count as an insta-push, though?

I think you've got to respect the bet -- there's too much chance he has a set of deuces or fives and slow played them on the flop.
